To Winnipeg?

I'm pretty sure they can send him to the AHL now IF no other team placed a claim on him. He almost certainly won't qualify for re-entry waivers, so they could call him up without worry. If it's an emergency recall, then waivers going down are no problem, however if it's a regular recall, then they would have to expose him to waivers again.

Very odd, Gets drafted by old Jets in early second round, moves to new jets then gets picked up by old jets again . Have not seen him play, so I can't really judge his skill

Not a bad move, he could challenge for a roster spot next season and maybe even this season.

With Ray Whitney close to retirement, MacLean seems favorable.

I think he has a month or 10 games, whichever is first, in the AHL/NHL before moving him would expose him to waivers. So if he sits in the AHL for over a month/10 games he can be called up again, but to send him down would just restart the waiving process.

At least he doesn't qualify for re-entry waivers yet, that'd make this process really, really suck.
