Windsor vs. Barrie Part I (2011 Edition)

We're not 1-2 in the CHL anymore, but these threads used to be so much fun, I figured I'd start one up... Our franchises appear to be on a similar cycle, perhaps both loading up for 2013-14. Can't wait for that...in the meantime, looking forward to a big Colts win tonight in Scheifele's return to the BMC!

The Colts are loading up for 2014? I thought by getting Sutch, Telegin, and McNeill along with most of their good forwards being in their last one or two seasons that they were doing a quick re-build. Besides Ekblad and Yuill, who are in the Colts' plans for the '13-'14 season? Will they make Schiefele available?

Spits need this win in the worse way.

Well, gathering those players seems to be the usual Colts plan of having perennial playoff teams then bolstering for a big season every 4-5. I would expect players will be available at the deadline this season and next, Scheifele seems unlikely though.

Ekblad and Yuill are looking like they'll be the OHL equivalent of Niedermeyer and Pronger in 13/14. What else do you need ? Having said that, they also have Fotinos and Seraphim (95) who both looked good at camp with 94s Bell, Devlin, and MacDonald.

Finally, at this point Hall, Lepkowski, Locke and Smoskowitz all look like they will be here for (strong) overage seasons.

This is probably not our year. I would expect that we'll be knocking on the door next year and will load up for the following one.

Nope, beat Kingston last Saturday, but have lost the other 3 games in the past 10 days! Hawerchuk's coaching is killing us. At least you don't have that problem. Coaching was a big difference in the 2010 final - hopefully it isn't tonight.

Bring your macaroni, should be a good one. Too bad Matt Kennedy's no longer with the Colts after he was pronounced brain dead. Oh wait, he's playing in the american league with they Syracuse Crunch. So glad his career ending brain injury didn't end his career or you know, injure his brain.

3-0 Barrie not even 5 minutes in and Spits put Campbell in.

Robertson and Duininck are AWFUL on the PK!

At this point we should just target Ekblad's melon with one of our disposable goons and call it a night.

They already have Jug, they already have... I have a feeling the Spits are going to be sore losers if this gets much worse...

I don't recall any going after Ekblad's head...the closest thing was Vail when he game him some extra shots because he was holding Vail's stick.

Better to be a sore loser than a good loser. It warms the cockles of my heart to know points don't come cheap against our team.

Then I won't take your word on them "going after Ekblad's head"... Barrie (including fans) like to over-exaggerate everything.

That's 3 Spits penalties now for Barrie players not being strong on their skates....I mean "cross checking".

But seriously...that's not cross checking.
