No, you're not crazy, you're just another idealistic Rangers fan who overvalues our players especially if they're homegrown. Look, that's okay and I totally understand the loyality factor but the old axiom is you have to give to get and if Anaheim were willing to part with Ryan(doubtful) for a yet to be healthy Marc Staal, you really have to do a deal like that if you're the Rangers hierachy. Ryan would put up 35-40 playing with Richards and that's something we desperately need.

Check pul-eze! No more russian enigmas on our team, thank you very much. Semin has a great shot and elite offensive skills, but he is beyond a headcase who doesn't play hard all the time. Torts would eat him for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

Not in favor for trading for Carter. He doesn't fit the identity of this team.

Would love adding Ryan, but he'd cost way too much, and I doubt Anaheim is willing to give him up.

We still need a top line winger though.

I'd start the package with Dubi and add from there.

the fact of the matter is we have good depth in the minors with our prospect. (some could argue are nhl ready most are not) We don't really have the pieces to even make a move for a good left winger because it would be robbing peter to pay paul. Were just going to have to stand pat until staal comes back then maybe we can move a d man(if he comes back this season) Or we'll have to wait until FA and sign one.

would this deal work?
Anisimov, Zuccarello for Turris, Whitney?

we'd have to add on to our deal turris and whitney have more value then both anisimov and zucc. something tells me they already have a deal lined up for turris and he just needed to be signed before it could happen

I wouldn't trade Anisimov for Turris and Whitney, much less Anisimov and Zuccarello.

Goals would be nice, so I'm willing to trade some of our young defensive talent once we get Staal back, but if we wait too long some may lose value. Definitely keep McD, Erixon, and McIlrath, though I'm not opposed to trading Del Zotto. I haven't really seen anything outstanding from him.

Regardless of seeing anything subjectively "outstanding", Del Zotto is the only legitimate puck mover on this squad. The Rangers cannot afford to move him, even with players like Erixon and McIlrath coming up, unless McDonagh and Erixon develop into prime puck movers. I don't expect that, and until that day, Del Zotto is pretty safe if he continues playing like he has to start this season. He's excelling playing 20+ minutes a game as a 20 year old.

Also, there's no guarantee Erixon/McIlrath develop enough to replace Del Zotto's minutes. One if currently a legitimate top-4 defenseman in the NHL, the others are valued because of their "potential". Add in that Del Zotto has both potential and proven value, and he won't be traded anytime soon unless the team trying to acquire him makes it worth the Rangers' while.

Anisimov is better than Turris, and Whitney is 39. I'm a big fan of Whitney, but the move doesn't make much sense for the Rangers. They downgrade at center for what boils down to a, most likely, one year fix. Whitney also has a NMC and seems to have no intentions of waiving it.

Ok,
Like my boy Zenith (nee Boyler) said. You think a 39 year old UFA-to-be and somebody who isn't as good as Anismov is better to have on this team? Good luck with that.

Bet you've been waiting for forever to get that "start watching hockey" line out, huh kid?

With the Turris signing & Maloneys & Sathers recurring trade history - anyone think there might be an opening here - maybe in January?
I - for what it is worth - do not think so as he will probably cost too much (nice caphit though) and does not fill an immediate need in our lineup.
Thoughts?

I think you answered your own question in your second paragraph.

Yeah sure - but I am sure there are differing opinions here. Or maybe not?

Turris?

I would pull the trigger if in deed he is available via trade.

Anisimov +?

I think we have seen Anisimov's ceiling while Turris could potentialy turn into a very very good center (don't want to use the word elite).

Thoughts?

Not really looking for another under performing player with a bad attitude.

Sure this kid has potential, but so did a bunch of other projects Sather has acquired over the years.

I don't want to deal Anisimov right now. A hard worker who still has room to grow into a solid two-way center.

I was just not a fan of the way that Turris handled the whole situation and I don't want to take the chance of giving up a significant piece of the core for a question mark.

Turris hasn't dominated the AHL like Arty has.

Turris hasn't done what Arty has done in the NHL. He hasn't scored as much points, he doesn't have near the defensive talent.

Frankly, if it's a Turris for Anisimov trade, I'd want PHX giving more.

Agreed. This team seems to be pretty tight. The Rangers don't need one player causing distractions. And if he was complaining already in Phoenix I can't imagine what his relationship with Torts would be like. You only take a chance if it's a steal, and you're dealing from depth. How about Rupp for Turris straight up?

I think you have completely taken leave of your senses.

You offer Anisimov for Turris in a straight swap and Phoenix would find it hard to not laugh at what a steal they'd be getting.

No place for Turris and his attitude and mediocre play.

We've seen his cieling? Arty PLUS? no way, Phoenix would take Arty alone and run away laughing.

Well that's yet to be determined if Phx would get the last laugh.

Let's first see if Turris gets traded and what he becomes.
