Jets lose 1-0

Shots were close, faceoffs were close, score was close. All in all, it could be chalked up as a solid road game.

Tough loss to take, but, I think we're in for plenty of these types of close games. For most of the season we haven't seemed to be able to muster up enough offense.

The team needs to learn to play in the first two periods

nice effort by the Jets.. was kinda distracted but liked pavs and the third was nice pressure.. tough loss but I'll take that loss over some brutal, lack of effort losses in the past.

I couldn't help but notice many times with Boucher talking to his team while Noel was standing there looking for lozenges.

Just my take however.

I disagree. Based on the overall reg season games played, we need to learn how to keep up stamina in the last portion of the 2nd and 3rd periods.

Pretty much the only thing we needed that game was goals, otherwise it was pretty solid all around. Finally Pavelec gets a low-scoring contest that he can feel confident about.

Noel is not the coach for this young team.

Shots were 11-3 in the 3rd for us and we pressured really well. Roloson played a great game.

Need to stop taking penalties, they are killing us.

This loss was a hell of a lot easier to swallow than the Rangers loss earlier. I thought the Jets looked good out there tonight, 2 on 0 excluded.

I'll be patient and wait to judge by the end of the regular season. If by that time I see no improvement, then I will be more critical.

If I had a choice between winning the Flyers game or this one, I'd pick the Flyers one.

Pretty good game defensively, which is good to see after what happened the last game.

The Jets played much better than they did against Philadelphia. They had trouble making clean passes for a lot of the game, particularly between defensemen at the point, but that improved over the course of the game. The 3rd was great.

It came down to penalties. For them to outplay a very good Lightning team five on five is a good sign for this team going forward.

We just lost a 1 goal game to a very good team.

Our goalie stood on his head and was the second star. Where are the haters? Oh yeah, he didn't move fast enough on the goal. I guess the only way he will get respect from some around here is if he kicks out rebounds into the other teams net.

Buff still made some glaring bad pinches, but it looked to me like he dialed down the cowboy just a little (which is nice to see). I didn't see him behind their net nearly as much as previously.

Bogo and Stuart had another nice game. Even Oduya and Jones weren't too bad.

Kane/Antro/and Burmi generated a few chances, and the GST line did their job again. A few bad penalties from Glass though. Still need more from Ladd/Little/ and Wheeler. although I thought Little played one of his better games tonight. Liked to see him aggressive with the puck.

All in all, we have to be happy with the effort tonight. Our guys battled right to the final whistle with a flurry at the end. Nice to see that kind of effort.

On a side note, we're looking for someone to do the Panthers GDT on Monday. Looks like whoever was going to do it dropped out.

I was happy with our play.

We kept a highly skilled team to one goal.

Interesting....

Noel is known as a developer of young teams and you seem to have the opposite opinion, please share with the group the basis of your conclusion.

Good game!

Positives: great goaltending, and a solid 60 min effort.
Negatives: finish around the net, and PENALTIES. Can't give a team as good as Tampa that many chances.

I found it interesting that the colour analyst mentioned that Noel wants penalties cut down and they got burned on a penalty. Hopefully that will be a teachable moment for the team.

That was a solid road game tonight. I'm pissed about the loss but was pleased with the effort from everyone.

I hate to nitpick because I like Pavs and he was good tonight but he seemed really slow to cover the post on Lecavalier's goal. He had plenty of time to get over and he just looked really nonchalant doing so. Pavs looks slow to me, whether it be getting back up into the play after giving up a rebound, or covering the post tonight, etc. I think that he's a better than average NHL goaltender and we need him playing well but his movement seems sluggish. Anyone agree?
