I know it's cool to hope that Gomez never comes back, but has anyone heard anything? Any chance he plays this weekend?

Phillips-Rundblad
Kuba-Karlsson
Gonchar-Cowen

If Montreal plays the way they did against the B's their three lines will give that D nightmares. Karlsson and Gonchar are both terrible in their own end, Kuba's not much better, Phillips has gone downhill (9 pts in 82 games last year??) and Rundblad and Cowen have 24 games of NHL experience between them.

The Sens haven't won games because of their defense this season, that's for sure.

Phillips is a defensive d man. I don't see how points are relevant to his performance. He's past his prime but still chugging along.

Yeah really, I hope the habs are up by more than one if they are leading going into the 3rd unless the philosophy change is for real. Ive seen 3 or 4 sens games this year already where they scored 3+ in the third. I think the boston game might be the only one they didnt put a surge on in the final period.

The way to beat the Sens is an agressive forecheck, the reason they've been coming back in 3rd periods is the fact that opposing teams try to preserve the lead by playing a more conservative type of game during the 3rd period, which suits Ottawa.

If you try and play safe with them, you'll get burned. Every time I saw them play against a team that plays agressive on the forcheck I saw them struggling.

Just to confirm - this isn't the opener for the 2012-2013 season is it?

fricking NHL scheduler was smoking something when they set up the Habs schedule

Probably wasn't the worst thing for Pacioretty have a week off.

that NHL scheduler must be clairvoyant!

That's true but if we're going to get long break like that then I'd much prefer it be late in the season when everyone is banged up

The individual training session sure would have helped a lot of our guys. I hope for strong execution tonight!
