So basically, you say that management should have dismissed the fact that Price is viewed by most, if not all, experts as the goalie with good potential to be a concession goalie and instead bet on an okay goalie who delivered an outstanding performance during one single playoffs, which may turn out to be a fluke?

If you strongly advocate such long-shot bet, then you should be prepared to the "laughed at" when it falls flat on its face.

Halak is nowhere near that level in those playoffs. Teams finally figured out all they need to do to beat him is to shoot high.

Halak's performance was a once in a career thing.

actually, Halak started well with the Blues, among the best in the league if not THE best, slowed down a little, got injured and isnt the same since...

and I dont recall anyone last October/November making cheap comments ala "where are the stupid Halak fans" or something...

wether he repeat what he has done in the past remain to be seen, but what I said in the post you quoted, he really did it, it did happen (wich is being the ONLY goalie to bring us to the ECF since St Partick)... and in that regard, and although I'm happy with our goaltending, if PG would have chosen to keep Halak, I would have been ok with it...

cause contrary to some here, I dont have a crystal ball and wont pretent to know as if it was a fact that Price will do the same in his career...
