I really liked the top 3 lines to be honest.

Wolski stepan and Gabby
Dubi Richards and Cally
Feds Boyle Prust

the 4th line needs some work. I know that AA had a goal and EC has 2 points or whatever, but i wasnt really all that impressed with their player other than on like maybe 2 or 3 shifts....they looked pretty meh for the most part...and Deveaux...eh...

Id love to see a 4th line of... Avery AA Hagelin

Del Zotto's +/- is mildly hilarious.

And Richards is miles better than Gomez ever was, even at the peak of his career. Just for clarity.

Sounded like the crowd was into it on TV. Was the place sold out? Saturdays game had about 4 or 5 empty rows behind one of the goals and I know they were offering deals for tonights game.

There's no chance it was full. I know the Rangers site probably says the attendance was 18,200, but there's no way.

Edit- the Rangers site says it was 17,852, which I could believe.

Thornton once again shows why he is a loser every post season. Can't wait to see who sends him to the links this year.

The good:

The power play looks better than I've seen in years.
The second straight game scoring 4+ goals.
I thought Wolski looked the best since he arrived.
Goaltending was solid once again.
No complaints about the D.

The bad:
Tough to find. Maybe, for a few minutes in the 2nd, the team looked like they were "afraid to win'?

The uncertainty:

Perhaps, the team was playing A San Jose team at the end of a long road trip, and looked a bit fatigued? Hopefully, it's as simple as, we just saw the Rangers step up their game.

The teams move on to a match against Anaheim (who have lost 5 of 6) so the Rangers should have another game to build their confidence.

lines will likely still change alot but for now they have to keep those top 3 together. I imagine we will see Avery, Anisimov, Christensen next game. Deveaux is a cheap spare and if their is a good on the other team he can be put in the lineup.

Still have Zuke and Hagelin as potential call ups later in the yr and I do agree Hagelin should take a spot on that line. I think it's a matter of time they just dont want to rush him . Same thought with Erixon

These guys must really not want Avery back on the team.

That depends on who you ask: an impartial, objective observer, or MSG network.

Meh. He looked okay, and he looked like a capable 4th liner, but they were trying to turn the fact that he took a weak turn around snap shot and followed it to the net (an extremely basic play) into some sort of highlight.

He played well enough to play again, for sure.

Really happy with the effort tonight, We showed some balls when pegged back to 2-2.

Brad Richards vision is such a thing of beauty, His effect on the PP is really starting to show now. You cant get carried away with one win but that team tonight was like night and day compared to what we have seen before tonight.

If that team that played tonight can show up like that 90% of the time we will be fine.

I would think if/when Avery clears, Deveaux would be sent back down. No need for two extra forwards.

Maybe Deveaux gets sent down and one of Bell/Parlett gets called up to be the extra defenseman? I'm curios as to why they have only 6 active, healthy d-men. I suppose an emergency call-up would not be difficult on this homestand, or maybe by the good graces of God Staal is getting healthier? The lack of information in regards to Staal is really starting to worry me.

Maybe it's due to my low expectations that I thought he played as well as he did. I thought he was horrid in the preseason, and was extremely befuddled when he was called up over a player like Hagelin. He proved me wrong tonight, though.

Rupp is not healthy so Deveaux would be the only healthy scratch

I imagine if Avery clears tommorow we find out Rupp is on the IR

as for the Dman I am sure they are trying to make a deal for depth but ur right they could easily have a call up from CT while on the homestand. After is a different story.

Staal is going to be out for a while unfortunately

Yeah, I'll reiterate that. To go with a classic HF cliché, it's not even close.

Richards' hockey sense is off the charts.

Gomez's is nonexistent. He might be the more "talented" player, but he has no tool box whatsoever. Richards' best asset is his toolbox.

Was at the game sat right behind Biron for 2 periods ... I love how many different players are getting votes tonight. Awesome team effort. I thought Cally, Christensen, and Girardi were the 3 best players.

Anisimov's goal was sick, Dubi played well, and Biron was really steady. He made some of those saves look easier than they were.

Great to see the team finally outplay the other team for 60 minutes.

Voted Arty,E.C: and WW. Because they been taking a lot of dirt on these board.
here you can see what migth happens when give players some patience, even though they have struggled a bit.

Great game. Give me hope that the Rangers can be a hockey team, not just grind grind grind. They entertained me

RYAN CALLAHAN and BRAD RICHARDS makes perfect sense together.

I said it this summer, and I think it was proven by what we saw last night. Like in broad terms a "playmaker" is not always a good fit with a "sniper". You need to narrow it down so much, and when you do you just see that Richards and Callahan are a match with each other.

Anyway, how about Dubinsky? Sure, he is ok on that line. But a perfect fit? Nah, that he is not. With Richards, you would definitely want someone with more sniping ability on that left side. I personally think GABORIK should play THERE.

What is so controversial about moving GABORIK over to the LEFT SIDE? I mean, if Gabby was a LW he would NO DOUBT play with Richards and Cally. And facts are that Gabby was a natrual LW coming out of Slovakia, and was moved to the right side in the NHL by Minny (were he was a bit back and forth early on). What he looses as a LW is the ability to cut into the ice and use his wrister. IS THAT A BIG LOSS? I think that uber predictable wrister when he goes up against a collected D has been very ineffective for years now. Nah, I'd go GABBY-RICHARDS-CALLAHAN for the 1st line.

Also, we need more skill up front. No doubt. Like that's one of two big issues that we will talk about after this season is over -- the lack of D and the lack of skill up front. There are no IF's and BUT's about it. If we move Gabby to the left side, we get a chance to give Zucc a shot at least at playing in a top 2 line role. DUBINSKY-STEPAN-ZUCCARELLO and Wolski-Anisimov-Fedetenko and Rupp/Avery-Boyle-Prust.

I really hope Torts would try it
