This might not be the best time for a Canuck fan who's new to the forum to come by and say hello, but I'm online and our teams are playing tonight so it's as good a time as any. I have to say that you guys played well the first half of the first doing a good job holding us in the zone and with BMO nailing that post. Best of luck in the second.

Pretty much what I expected. They'll play like **** for the next little bit as we get hammered by top teams. Then they'll show up for a few games, and then proceed to once again play like **** and so on and so forth.

This doesn't sound like the Flames at all.

Welcome aboard! I think unfortunately for the Flames, the Calgary rivalry is the perfect tonic to help the Canucks kick their cup run hangover.

Yeah, you haven't had much luck against us the past year or so. I was really hoping that Iginla would look a bit better than he has because I'm counting on him to produce for my hockey pool. Then again he had a slow start last year too so he might still help me.

Man, why do we play like this against Vancouver? This hasn't even been a rivalry the last 2 seasons. Come on guys, start playing with some pride!

I think its time for Feaster to get off his ass and shake this team up.. Trade a couple guys, or even fire Sutter, the team hasn't "bought into his system", but there has been numerous moves to shake it, maybe its his system thats flawed, not the players..

We can't compete with top level teams. Surprised? Not really.

Honestly, I wouldn't bother getting worked up about this game, no matter how bad the score gets. This isn't a case of the Flames playing terribly or getting badly outworked.

The reality is the Flames simply do not match up well against the Canucks' speed and skill. Especially when Sarich and Hannan comprise major components of the defense and Bouwmeester, the teams number one defenseman, is not really a number one defenseman.

To properly compete with these Canucks, the entire team needs a pretty drastic overhaul. To temporarily compete with them, the whole game plan needs to be simplified to the point where their basically trapping it up. But since Sutter isn't realy adept at changing things on the fly, Flames and Canucks are going to be an ugly affair all season long.

Agreed but that doesn't. change the brutality of the score. Most, if not all of us expected this game to be a loss during this home stand. I doubt any of us thought it would be this bad.

Give the team a couple more games before we cry for any immediate overhaul.

As for that gif from CoRD, seconded...wait, it's only the second intermission. Somebody shoot me now.
