You're talking about NBA, aren't you?

MtlPenfan,

you should see how insane the football craze is here in Philly. It sickens me and it infests the radio all the time. Honestly one of the best times on sports radio was during the lockout this summer when I had a couple blissful months not having to hear every little detail about the eagles.

I get that every game is important because there is only 16 games, But do I honestly need to hear about how Vick coughed during the 3rd quarter and how that affected the team for that day and the entire coming week?

Whats really messed up is the devotion and blind love of a team that has never won the super bowl, and through the actions of the front office, obviously detests their own fan base. Atleast in Pittsburgh you've won a few of those.

I'm sure you Pens fans know how crazy Flyers fans are, but god forbid we bring up the Flyers when its offseason, but it's ok that we continue to talk about the absolute disappointment the Eagles manage to be year after year.

All in all...this....

Maybe I'm part Canadian and just don't realize it...

(Shout out to my cousin in Pittsburgh Matt P. who works at 93.7 the fan!)

What I don't like about football coverage is something Subject Orange touched on...there's only 16 games. A week of coverage for 1 game is just complete overkill.

The over analyzation of everything in the NFL is crazy. I have seen a team be a heavy favorite Monday morning, and the media was able to convince me that there was a matchup to be had by Saturday night.

How do people live and die with a 16 game season? I like football a lot, but 1 day of fun, 6 days of doing nothing? Seems awful. Hockey is a 6 month, non-stop journey.

I just remember during the '09 Cup Run, I'd listen to ESPN Pittsburgh, and while the coverage was fine, they'd still dedicate at least a segment an hour on the Steelers, in ****ing MAY!!!

And people knock Mark Madden, but when it's hockey time, it's hockey time and when it's football time, it's football time. I was driving home from school one day during our first Cup run, and he refused to take any calls about anything other than hockey.

I dug that.

Penn State sucks. (Pitt alum here ) But my GF went to Penn State, so I attended a game with her and it was crazy. I still don't know how they get 100,000+ people in there - the town is not large. I think it's because it's the only game in town.

On game days it becomes PA's 3rd largest city.

Im not really a PSU fan since I moved from Pittsburgh to here. But I root for them now I guess.
