Chris Clark to Providence Bruins

Gotta wonder if Whitfield is banged up...

GlobeKPD Kevin Paul Dupont
Finally, maybe some job competition. RT @GlobeFluto - Chris Clark reporting to Providence #Bruins on PTO

Get him up here, he can take Pouliot's stall.

Honest question since my hockey knowledge is limited. How /why do some consider him a better option than/competition for Poo or caron? His recent stats don't seem that great.

Good move. Creates job competition, threat of demotion, and if he is called up, brings in veteran leadership and hard work. If not impressed by his skills, his work ethic and even dropping the mitts this preseason must have left some impression on everyone.

I liked Chris Clark. I think what did him in was the Bridgeport fight. He never returned from the game after and was cut shortly after.

He's legit competition and a great source of leadership along with Whitfield. By all accounts those guys could use it.

Caron played better but if he sucks it up again I wouldn't mind seeing Clark get a shot, his leadership alone could be nice

While it is competion, is this really going to turn anything around? I like the move, but I can't see it shaking up anyone on this roster other then maybe Pouliot or Caron..

Great move.

He'll be a huge support for the kids down there.

a no brainer. Vet depth (on decent contracts) will never hurt you.

Pouliot looks like a Wheeler, who can't score

Well, i guess we're a contender now . The problem is in the top 6, not on the 4th line...

This is it and it precisely.

I know we want more... But that has no bearing on this being good for Providence and our kids.

Pouliot gives you nothing. It'd be hard for Clark to give you less than nothing...

Bring up Clark and end the Pouliot experiment. If Clark doesn't work, try someone else.

I honestly thought that despite not really adding much...he should have been signed. He's a great character guy if nothing else....I say sit POOH-liot and dress Clark until that experiment fails too.

Finally liked Caron's game last night. Was surprised to see he only played under 8 minutes, because he actually made those minutes count.

If Pouliot becomes a locker room distraction, then I'd say Clark can take his spot in the press box, but now that there are no expectations for Benoit, I think he's a good 13th forward to have.

Clark can help in Providence until/unless he is needed due to injuries on the 4th line.

Problem is for some unknown reason, Chiarelli did have expectations for him and signed him as a top nine forward.

I think we might see him in the lineup Monday after playing the weekend to get his legs back in Providence

Why?

The 4th line and Caron finally all looked good last night. Clark is not a top 9 NHL player anymore and there's no need for him. Unless you want to waive Pouliot and call up Clark to be the 13th forward, but there's really no point in that yet.

Caron needs more time in the minors he has been awful all year played okay last night Pouliot has been terrible after playing okay in the 1st 3 games why not give Clark a chance in that rotating spot

Neither Clark, Pouliot or Caron our top 9 players but one of em needs to play in that spot with how our roster is right now

Caron is finally showing some signs of life. Take him out of the lineup if you acquire someone like Ray Whitney. Don't take him out of the lineup for a guy who is a borderline 4th liner and hasn't played a game yet.

I guess you value Caron more than I do I think he is a borderline 4th liner

Thats why I don't think who plays that wing on the 3rd line matters

Chiarelli really needs to adress that roster spot asap
