Parenteau is the kind of guy I wouldn't mind scooping in a buy-low scenario or as the guy we happen to unearth out of minor league/Euro league oblivion, but... he's not the guy I'd buy-high on as a UFA who potentially commands $5M per on a multi-year contract. We could indeed use a winger. And in a vacuum, Parenteau would be a good guy to try. But just not at the $$$/term he's likely to command in a thin UFA market, too much risk involved there, alas.

Not saying I don't like Parenteau, but I don't think he fits.
Actually if Parenteau can play LW he'd fit in really well with Plekanec and Gionta IMO. Both Plekanec and Gio shoot a lot and a playmaking left winger would work great with them.

Given the option, I take DD over Parenteau. 10 times out of 10.

I'm of the opinion that anyone who plays with John Tavares, who in my opinion is one year away from becoming elite in the NHL, is going to look like a sure fire 50 point player.

2 good years and I heard worst from fans around here about overrating players production... here, I'm actually quite conservative. I'm not pimpin' him into a ppg player or anything. To say he's not a 50pts scorer is actually projecting in the future...

... I don't even want to know why posters underrated Parenteau like this...

He's been in the NHL full time for 2 years and put up 53 and 67 points. Tavares is a good player but 120 points is still excellent production. Guys like Talbot Dupuis Sullivan Cooke etc get to play with Crosby or Malkin and they don't crack 50 points year in and year out.

If we get Parenteau, does he get to bring his corkscrew attack to the habs, or is that Islanders property?

If true I don't like it. we already have 2 great offensive d men. We need a bruiser with a good stick IMO

As long as two of three of Kaberle, le jeune Veber and Diaz leave I wouldn't mind Yandle.

Nothing wrong with Diaz at all, just that if we have to carry Kabelre, then(Math) We can't carry too many guys like that in the Eastern Conference, just look at Boston & NYC! That's all. I'd like to have kept Diaz, bur Mr Vermont-Gauthier has left Montreal a lot of crutches....

actually I live in PHX 3 months out of the year and go to tones of their games. His 31 hits in 82 games this year is very impressive ....do you not understand that we already have one of the softest D cores in the league as it is? we don't need a player like yandle we have markov and subban. Sure he's 6'2 200 but plays like he's 5'9 180. I love the guy he is really a premiere D man but I don't see him as a good fit with the habs unless we Trade PK or Markov but that wont happen.

PS: Maybe you should check your facts hater. Now go to bed

Rrr.....if we traded Yandle for Kaby+ it would just be a soft upgrade, maybe then we get some big hitting big guy to go with Yandle till Tinordi is available

Gorges - Subban
Markov- Emelin
Yandle - Big Guy

Doesn't look all too soft.

Do you know who Yandle is?

Problem with this trade isn't getting Yandle, it's that we won't be getting Yandle.

We need good players first and foremost. Not sure Parenteau is real, or just a product of Tavares, but if Bergevin hires him, I'll wait and watch.

Euh ? I don't understand your way of buliding a hockey team sorry. The only reason people are talking about Parenteau is his origins , which by now is getting very tiresome.

If you rely on UFA's to build a team you are in deep ****.

LA Kings ring a bell ? ( It's all about pro scouting ) Oh yeah i forgot, the last two Stanley cup champions had a very small second lines.

From Eklunds twitter: "Sounds to me like there is no way Yakupov is going to be a Oiler. Edmonton either moves the pick or Yakupov could slide to #3."

Looks like he's going first overall forsure now
