Michel Bergeron would trade PK Subban for Jeff Carter
http://www.985sports.ca/audioplayer.php?mp3=117201

Again, we have a salary cap issue here.

Way, way too high a price to pay for a guy that is requesting a trade. Also, look at the playoff stats and even Cammalleri straight up become debatable.

Good thing Bergeron isn't GM. I'd take a wild guess and say that CLB will let him play more than 8 freakin' games before contemplating moving the guy. Even if he did ask for a trade, then they'd probably wait until the deadline to increase their chances of getting equal or higher value than what it took to acquire him.

That would really help our current D situation.

Carter for Cammy + 1st would be great for us!!!

Carter-Plekanec-Gionta----that line would be amazing on D
Patches-DD-Cole---- very good line already
Moen-Eller-AK-------Big strong line
Gomez-Nokia-White-----most expensive 4th line in the NHL

/Darche

I would do the same.

you see flashes of brilliance out there with subban, but his athleticism and skills often give way to his lack of hockey smarts. Poor playmaking decisions, turnovers and penalties overshadow his skills, and i feel that this won't change.

Being an intelligent player is something that is very tough to learn, and is most likely something you're born with, or how your brain gets wired as you grow. Subban doesn't have it. I'm sorry to say.

Trade him off while he's still a hot commodity to those still wearing the rosey coloured glasses.

I was originally thinking an a poor playing, lowering market valued E.Staal for Subban straight up, but Carter will do as well.

I'd try to work something around Weber and a 1st, and try to sneak Gomez in between. They're one of the few teams that could be interested in the paid salary/cap hit bonus

With the Flyers he was use at both position with Giroux and JVR. I like DD so far at Center with Cole and Patches, that's why i would try Carter at LW with Plek.

They wouldn't. They'd want the equivalent of Voracek + a top 10 pick to start. Hypothetically, they'd probably ask for Eller + Pacioretty.

OK so we have all been hoping for a big talented center, and you want to play him on the wing ? And keep DD at center !

And the next sound they'd hear is "click".. I'd rather keep Eller and Pacioretty than deal both for Carter. Maybe a deal including Eller + but no Pacioretty included.

Trading PK for Carter would be a fail of epic proportions. No thank you. I wouldn't give Andrei Kostitsyn.

Not trading AK for Carter is just as big a "fail of epic proportions". Some people are way too down on Carter right now.

I would def not trade Subban, but i'd give them Cammalleri for Carter any day of the week.

Assuming Price, PK, Markov, Plecks and Patches are untouchable, we still have a ton of players we could use to trade for a top tier player, not just Carter.

Without affecting our core too much, we could trade Eller, AK, Weber, Diaz, Emelin, Campoli etc. If we need to step up the offer, Cammy and Gio can also be included in as a core feature. We also have some good prospects in Beaulieu, Tinordi, Leblanc as well as picks we could use as chips.

We have assets to acquire a top tier player and if we demote Gomez, we can also have the cap space in spades for any players in the NHL. I think these trade scenarios become more realistic then they are right now, imo.
