With the Pilot at 83k and the Accord at 75k, plus my for fun Jeep Wrangler (208k). Hopefully we can go for awhile without having to but another vehicle. Too many other expenses at the moment.
It's been a decade since my last car payment:
Me
'87 GMC Jimmy (i.e., Chevy Blazer) 181k (pd cash in 2000 at 154k)
'99 Toyota Avalon 81k (pd cash in 2000 at 10k)

Lois
'99 Honda CRV ~104k (bought new)

Title is in my name, but let her use for her business:
'94 GMC Safari (i.e., Chevy Astro) 129k (pd cash in 2001 at 104k)

2012 will likely replace the Jimmy with a convertible.

Mid-life crisis?

Damn, and here I thought I was cool with my 98 Blazer (only 88K miles).

I guess I can drive it around for another decade, BG.

And God bless everybody who doesn't have a damn car payment. Like my buddy Charlie likes to say, you're clearly winning.

Not really. I think I've already had that, or at least the first manifestation of one.

I can get 8 months out of a convertible here where it could be driven top-down all or majority of the month - saw several tops down in the AM this week, despite cold temps - I guess it's an acquired taste . Just wanting something smaller / conducive for the beach, and for road tripping in summer. If I had it, I'd use it.

You and me both. For the most part I wouldn't change how anything has gone for me though.

Fellas, I'm not saying I have money. I've lost more than many people would hope to acquire. It will take ~20 more years of work to earn it back

Was in Canada last night and didn't get back until the wee hours. Errands run all day today and just about to head out to my son's hockey practice. My sitter just cancelled for tonight, so it is looking bleak for me making a party later. Ugh.

so, BG...what type of convertible are you considering? I have a couple of suggestions...

edit: so I see I missed the whole Clock/Equinox threads... I was thinking about the Equinox for my wife's next vehicle. We leased her current ride (Toyota Venza), as she wanted to have something large to haul our college age kids stuff around, in case they needed help moving from here to there.
She likes sitting up higher a la crossover or SUV. Plus, they have more of a car like ride, instead of a truck. We don't really need the extra space that the larger Traverse has.

On a side note, I've been drooling over the new 2012 45th Anniversary Camaro. The stealership where I got my current Camaro is getting one in next week, and the sales manager is going to call me to let me know when it's in.

If I don't show up here ever again: it was my wife, in the garage, with a torque wrench.

My weekend so far:

Friday: Sabres game, made some beef stroganoff.
Saturday; Cleaning allllll day. The lady came over for the first time last night, we went and saw a movie, then went to a pizza place, got some beer and some shots.
Today: Bills game is on local TV here, so debating whether or not to watch it at home or hit up a bar.

We had drinks and a donut at Timmy's. He is having fun and trying hard. Granted, the training for me in all of this is probably just as important as the training for him.

Yesterday after practice, he asked the coach if he could address the team. He gets up and gives a little speech:

"Ok, guys, remember, it's not about winning or losing. It's about having fun, playing hard, and doing your best."

I was extremely proud. He certainly surprised the coaches and the parents with that one who gave him a quick round of applause.

And the one assistant comes off today and says "He's either going to be President or a lawyer. He's a talker."

I won't go into what I had his +/- at, but suffice to say his "minus" was higher than his age.... But he had fun and he's looking forward to the next practice.

Tried Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA last night for the first time. Wowza. The store I was at also had the 120-minute but it was $10 for a 12 oz. bottle! Couldn't quite justify it.

and that is the most important, especially at a young age. So many parents lose sight of that.
