Who else, well I'm too tired to think about it!
Yup, this year's draft will be a thing of beauty... Many players will be moving, will be interesting to hear the experts their explanation for the moves!

Tyler Bertuzzi will be an intersting follow this season.

Checked in to Storm training camp at 6 feet tall, up 2-3 inches from last season. Could be a good grab in the middle rounds as an agitator type with a little bit of upside.

Monahan is more Toews like, Shinkaruk is more of a sniper in the mold of Jeff Skinner

I don't know if Shinkaruk is all that much like Kane - except for his hands.

Yeah, I think so, too - although I'd say Shinkaruk has better hands and is better through traffic.

Monahan will be the first in this draft class to wear the 'C', especially if all my nightmares come true and the Leafs take him.

Shinkaruk is kind of like a goal scoring Martin St. Louis. Probably will outgrow him, but currently I will say so. I also agree about the Jeff Skinner comparison.

Monahan is like a bigger version of Tyler Seguin.

It stops being as fun watching him fight anyone and everyone if he's no longer 5'9", 150.

I've compared Shinkaruk to Crosby in the way he skates, handles the puck and is equally good at scoring and playmaking.

It's about player style strictly though, I'm not saying he projects to be the next Sid.

I'd really like the Oilers to grab one of these C's either by trading their 1 and a 2nd round pick/player to land in the top 10 to pick up either: Monahan, Barkov, Lindholm, Lazar, Horvat, Kujawinski. Nuge and one of them would make an awesome 1-2 punch down the middle in years to come.

Well, with some things started I think we'll see if some of these guys realize their potential and how many realize that a good year in 2012-13 isn't as important as being good from 2011-2014!

Hopefully no early injuries and those of you who can get to games will update your opinions.

I have Shinkaruk as kind of an Eberle. Knows where to go to score goals and has some ridiculous hands in tight.

How far away are Shinkaruk and Monahan? Would they be ready to make the jump immediately after their draft?

Yes.

Monahan has the size, physicality, speed, and power to be an NHL player one year from now.

I doubt Columus or Calgary do that badly two years in a row.

that's way over generous - he is *starting* to totally dominate teenagers - but to say in early Sept. he's NHL ready next year is over-reaching at this point.

re: Shinkaruk - i'm doubtful. His size isn't fantastic - although he's got that same powerful, low centre of gravity that Skinner had. Shinkaruk needs to show his stuff for the next few months w/o Etem...and even if he does great, expecting him to be able to step in to the NHL right away is optimistic.

at this point - the one who is probably closest would be MacKinnon - and his transition would be easier if he could come equipped to play wing well.

McDavid is a center. Him and Reinhart would certainly solve Calgary's center issues, that's for sure.

It depends on how much muscle Shinkaruk can put between July and the start of 2013. His weakness is a lot like RNH and that is if he is strong enough to play with men?. Personally I think he needs one more year in WHL and will make the starting lineup in 2014-2015, but anything is possible.

Funny, I know people named Shinkaruk and they always say the name as 'shink-ka-RUK', so when I first heard a reporter call him 'shin-KARE-ik' it threw me off.

I'm guessing some people have opinions about who is going to have great starts now, since seasons start pretty fast. Who do you like so far?

Homer pick. Drouin. Has improved a ton from what I can tell. Can't wait for regular season game action. Bigger, stronger, faster, more skilled. One week away
