Cody got 4:20 of ice time. With neither Calgary or Ottawa (Konopka will sit) dressing true enforcers, wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see them go with seven defensemen before the end of the weekend. Especially with the 0-for on the PP.

Not even sure why Leino's and Roy's TOI get singled out in any case. That line was their best tonight and Leino/Roy were two of their better forwards. Particularly Leino looked stronger as the game went one. 19-ish for Leino isn't that out of the ordinary when Pominville/Stafford both got 20-ish.

I seriously doubt that. i'll give you 3-1 odds on that bet...

Cody played little because it was 3-0 before Ryan Miller realized the game started

This thread should be pretty amusing when it's all over.

Unless guys just obviously play incompatible styles of hockey, Lindy needs to give them a chance to gel as a line. This ******** he's addicted to, switching up the lines every time somebody runs cold or somebody has a bad shift has got to stop. I'm glad he went back to the lines that he'd had, so at least 1 ****ing line had chemistry, and Roy and Leino have looked stronger by the game. I think it won't be long (if Lindy will keep his damn hands off it) before the other lines get clicking.

Good

Vanek and Roy should be half the teams pay role.
Myers had a lot of attitude.
The first line powerplay unit.

bad

I hate watching this team play at home
The second line power play unit.
Lindy changed the whole freaken team around to start the game.
The team gives up better scoring chances then it creates.
amateur talent isn't clicking at crucial times. like 4 on 2's
Im getting tired of gaustad and stafford having predictable games.
On third line isn't good enough.
Gerbe is very short.

ugly

when hecht and ennis come back, will we ever develop a team concept?

Ruff is notorious for still playing his non-skill players when we're down. Hearing that he played so little is surprising.

Stafford with 5 points in 11 games. That's not gonna cut it.

Hecht isn't coming back...
Ennis brings nothing this team needs...

Help is not on the way

you look at the parts you look at the results. you look at the parts, you look at the results.. skill? check. depth? check. variety? check. ability to be ready for a god damn game of hockey, EMPTY BOX.

idk, this team just seems too damn good to be playing this bad. is it lindy? seriously, lets look at it subjectively. i mean miller is handing goals to the opposition on a nightly basis, but jesus, who sets the starting roster, seriously? who's job is it to motivate and prepare the players?

idk the more i watch this team and break down the details, it just looks like bad preparation. i think sabreland needs its bubble burst. time for a dose of reality.

imo, a sacrifice needs to be made to the hockey gods. same song and dance so far this year. it would be nice to see a legit new attitude behind the bench. nothing lindy sets up on the off days pans out. all his plans and shuffles get blown up as soon as the puck drops. panic mode sets in and were watching the same **** weve been watching for years.

The Sabres can help themselves by playing more defensively.

observations from being there...

Good:
-Vanek, Enroth

Bad:
-Both teams apparently thinking it was "Pratfall Night at the FNC"
-Both of our goals. c'mon.
-The last two Miller goals. really?
-the passing
-the defense
-the offense

Ugly:
-The coaching. way to abandon everything this week... then abandon it again. nothing like creating your own cloud of confusion.
-Derek Roy. So glad the 05-06 version of him is back, spinning and falling on his face 10 times a game. then pretending like it hurt so bad. If there was any time to just cut that weight, its now, while people might be fooled into thinking he's a relevant player. Enough of him already.

Motivate?...

You really think it's Lindy's job to motivate these guys?...

I think the team is coached and prepared just fine.

You want to hammer Lindy...hammer him on the Line changes...

The effort has got to come from the players. It's been like this for years.

He rotated the Roy line and the Vanek line back and forth a few times to finish the game. I couldn't believe it. I kept expecting to see Gaustad out there at some point.

Pretty much with the consensus here for GBU. The one thing to add (I think one other person mentioned it) but my God our ice is miserable. Guys falling all over the place, the puck constantly skipping and not staying flat on the ice. The millions spent on the dehumidifier and zambonis with frickin' laser beams seem to be doing absolutely nothing, if they are it's actually making it worse.

Mediocre:

Ellis had a strong game.
Weber played better as the game went on.
Kaleta was working all night.
Myers was noticeably better.
Boyes was decent, as was Drew and Ville.

Blah:

Christian meh-Hof.
Miller looked downright disinterested.

Ugly:

Blocked shots, not nearly enough getting through.
Lazy puck control,too many turnovers.
