Once Hammer grows a bit, takes some more lessons from Gillies, and gets stronger he'll beat the **** out of Kane.

Like the fortitude!

Islanders just incompetent in that period.
Missed passes, missed, net, terrible breakout play, mishandling the puck.
Lucky to only down by one, although they could have potted a few of their own if they were anything close to sharp.

I am still fully expecting to win. Winnipeg stink. I will quote myself in glory in 40 minutes time also. WE just have to win this. GOOD chances so far, next period the scoring starts.

That's why we have this:

this team looks exactly like the team that lost 21 of 22 last year. Not intending to incite, but this is the same level of effort, lack of results, frustrations, fumbling passes, not finishing and the diminishing confidence we saw last november.

This is a fragile team. They are completely different if they score early.

It's hard to watch some of these guys out there.

That was a terrible play by Moulson on that 2 on 1

He's been ordinary since the Rangers game, people too busy ragging on DP & PAP to notice.

I know its crazy but maybe the coach should actually change the lines, or the GM make a move...

Thought we looked better than them for the first 5 minutes. Goal by Kane was nice, but someone has to lay him on his ass before he gets that many chances with the puck. Nice move on Hamonic by Kane, but the puck coming back to him after the first shot was luck; him getting through to the backhand is weak defense. One of AMac or Comeau had to play the body when the puck is in that area after Hamonic was beaten. Enough guys back to stop that play from seeing the back of the net.

KO got drilled, then his next shift he threw a hit. Wish he'd learn to be the initiatior of contact; he's so friggin' strong. Should have been a penalty when he got dumped, the defender actually wrapped his arm around KO's leg and lifted him off the ice. Not only is that a dangerous play, I'm fairly sure that's a penalty. Again, nice to see KO react to the affront.

Sloppy period by both teams. Winnipeg didn't impress me except for a couple of good shifts in our zone. Lots of missed passes by both teams. Seems like the Jets have a little bit of speed, JT's line had one shift where three contested pucks in a row were all taken by faster Winnipeg players. Martin did make an appearance on JT's line after Parenteau's poor dump-in. That was it though.

They really need to break these lines up at some point. Against faster or more physical teams, we just don't get to enough pucks 5-on-5.

Been a while since our last game, let's hope they come out strong in the 2nd. Would be nice to get a PP and have Mark Streit knock one home for his 96 year old grandma.

,
Mitch

Yeah that too, not Hamonic's night so far. I hope he picks it up in the next two.

There were absolutely no redeeming qualities about that period. I hate the days off excuse. These are professional players and should be chomping at the bit when they get out there. Instead we get the same lackadaisical, mediocre effort (minus the first 4 minutes). The lines need to be mixed up at this point.

Capuano will keep these lines until the day he is fired.

If we dont, can we start the Cappy watch?

Its one thing to not score, but can we at least hit someone!!? If not for Martin, would we ever check anyone!?

I don't know why he's so against it.

I'd really like to see Okposo or Martin up with Tavares at this point. Moulson is dogging it out there right now.
