We just came up short tonight. If we win this game in regulation, it’s a great trip. Now it’s an average trip. We should have had better out of tonight’s game. We’ve got to try to generate more. We got a lot of shots blocked in the second half of the game tonight. Teams, everyone is blocking shots, everyone is getting in lanes. We’ve got to find a way to work harder and get pucks to the net, make plays and figure out a way to just get the puck on net and score some ugly goals, get to those tough areas to score more goals. That’s the only way out of it. If you’re not going to do those things, it’s not going to happen. You can’t keep relying on your goaltender to give up one or get a shutout to win a game. We’ve got to be better in that area."

Five games in seven (days), then we go overseas and have a couple games over there. We make the adjustment to come back to the East Coast. That was demanding in itself. That was a big test, and I was very concerned about it through the offseason, looking at that part of the schedule, about how fast you get re-adjusted. I had never done that before, really, as a coach of a team. I did it as a player, but I never paid attention to it. You just do it. I’ve heard a lot of stories over the years, and seen teams, where they come back and have a tough time getting things on track, getting settled in and getting the fatigue out of the way and start to play the game at the right pace again. I really liked the way we handled the overall part of the schedule here. Emotionally, the players understood what it was all about and prepared themselves very well for that.
I think our game, going into this last road trip, starting off in Dallas, was high-energy. There was compete, there was a good pace to the game. It was a very good game, going into Dallas, and we end up winning it. There was just a nice continuation over the rest of the two games, in my opinion. We only got the one point out of it, but still, coming out of Colorado, I felt good about it. I was proud of the way the players played, with three in four nights. To sum it all up, in a nutshell, I’m very pleased with how the early part of the season has unfolded for us. Now, as for specific parts of the game, I won’t get into that… [laughs] There are always things that are a concern. We’ll make a big push, in specific parts of the game, to get that to a better level of play."

LET'S GO KINGS !!!

- UPCOMING SCHEDULE -

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

As long as we have the same record as the Oilers by the end of the night tomorrow, I'll be happy.

Hall and Peckham are not alternate captains. With Hemsky and Whitney injured it's been Gilbert and Smyth wearing the "A's."

Also, although I'd be surprised if Hemsky played, he is slated to come back soon (which is why he's traveling with the team.) I'm not 100% certain he is a scratch for this game.

I believe they were expecting him to play on Saturday but you're right that's not 100%. Would be a welcome surprise tonight that's for sure.

Excited to see the hyped Oiler kids. Be interesting to see if there's still a bit of bad blood between DD and Hall. Hoping to see lots of rushes and our D being able to stop them. Also looking to see QUickie rob them a few times.

Should be a good one!

Our D may not be pretty on paper, but it has been extremely effective, along with our fourth line.

Oilers/Kings games are almost always highly entertaining (although MacT had a lot to do with that and he's long gone). Looking forward to this one.

some of you will enjoy watching the 'kid' line. Ive watched a few Oilers games and they are so exciting to watch. They have more creativity on display in 1 period than our entire team does in a month

Yup, with Sutton's suspension he gets his chance now. Has been playing well down in OKC.

Hmm?

The young Oilers, runnin'-n-gunnin' without a dinosaur like Terry Murray holding them back are trailing the Kings in GFPG, but besting them in GAPG.

Something does not compute.

Don't like playing young and fast teams, they seem to exploit or system really well. Will be a good test for our defense go, let's get 2 points! GO KINGS!
