Spano was able to trick an entire league into selling him a professional sports franchise when he had no money. I think he could come up with a toupee.

OMG, it WAS John Spano!

only place i can think of where they can it an arena is by oil city by all those huge tanks and vats and stuff ( heard they aren't used anymore). Even then, how would people leave and get there? Lawson blvd. and austin blvd. wouldn't be able to take that kind of traffic.

You know its fake because why is there no mention of this on any newspaper, No mention of this anywhere at all.. Once Stan mentioned it any decent journalist with half a brain would go out and do some research and contact Gary Levine on this issue. Stan has no posted anything else about this matter and now its in the hands of us and the bloggers

Which leaves me once again to ask the question I say so very often

"WHAT THE ##$^ HAPPENED TO REAL JOURNALISM IN THIS COUNTRY?"

Why bother with a 20,000 seat arena. 8,000 is all they need.

But you didn't actually listen to the show, did you? Because I was listening in the car and right after he said he was headed to the coliseum he said... and I quote... "don't get excited Isles fans. Nothing to do with the arena".

So, no.

Last night my Father and I had tickets in Section 104. It has been some time since I got my dad to a game and he wanted a picture of himself down by the ice. Towards the end of the third (after the third goal) we walked down the few rows to be right on the boards. In the second row a well dressed gentlemen, a little too well dressed. He was sitting alone and the section had mostly cleared. I guess my dad saw the frustration on his face and began to bs about the game, "They almost had it, but the fire went out...etc". After the brief conversation we went back to taking the photos and before I knew it the gentlemen was right behind me. He said, "I'll take one go stand by your Dad. This is what it is all about anyway." At the time I thought to myself 'Wow, nice guy'. But my Dad kept going on about how he seemed out of place. By himself, dressed to the nines, staying after the games was over (because of the goal not the clock), when he left he walked toward the locker room not up the stairs.

I am not saying it was this Levine guy, and I am not saying that this Island Park Scheme is any more believable the Big Foot, but the whole thing just seemed really coincidental.

Please don't crucify me for it, probably just nothing but interesting none the less.

Hmmm.... was he an african-american gentleman with a deep-voice, mohawk, and lots of gold chains around his neck?

If so, I've seen him too.
