Victor Rask

With 12 points in 12 games for the Calgary Hitmen, Rask seems to have hit the ground running in North America.

If he stays motivated, he could be a real steal for the 'Canes.

discuss.... Can he keep this pace?

He can keep this pace for sure. For what I've heard, his parents hold him back and that's one of the main reasons he fell so much in draft rankings... He kinda reminds me of Pulkkinen who also suffered from things that had nothing to do with his talent.

Here's to hoping he's going to develop up to his full potential...

I don't know whether he can keep that pace, but what little I've seen of Rask was pretty impressive. He's both huge and mobile, and if he learns to use his size he should be a decent NHL player.

His mom called his team about his playtime and he got a bullseye on his back by media and fans.

Having seen a few Hitmen games this year, Rask is definitely hit and miss. When he's on his game he is dominating the opponents defense all period, and when he's off, he is invisible. You can go a few periods at a time without even noticing him. It's a matter of consistencey for Rask, if he can bring the same strong effort shift in, shift out, he could be a gem.

He has an excellent shot, above average skater, good sized frame. All the pieces are there except his additude.

Yeap... Hard to believe how he wouldn't have had hard times with that kind of guardianship

Last night must have been one of his invisible nights. 0 pts and -2 in a 5-2 win.

Hopefully tonight is one of his good games as I am watching him live for the first time ever.

Got a look at the Calgary/Saskatoon game tonight, and Rask was somewhat dangerous but overall pretty unimpressive. While he has a nice offensive skillset (nice vision, heady passer, fluid skater), he really had little desire to stick his nose into dirty areas. He seemed content to stay to the outside.

Yeah, really didn't like him that much last night either. When he wants to, you could see he CAN play the power forward game and use his size to create chances. Those moments were just very few and far between.

He was my key to the Hitmen's success last night on the radio and he never brought his 'A' game, and Calgary fell 4-1.

I do like his overall skillset, but that work ethic and overall drive is very concerning for me.

After 4 games without points, Rask finds the net again. 2 goals vs Regina Pats.
9+5 in 16 games now.

Rask was invisible in Brandon, he gave up 2 lazy penalties, one that led to a PP goal for Brandon. Not a good outing for him.
