Also, it's possible the boxscore hasn't been updated, but its showing Reggie at only 10 minutes of icetime this game so far. This accurate? If it is, why so little?
Lots of PP time for the Sabres. Reg doesn't play PP.

Tanguay! Lucky tip, to be honest, but I'll take it. Win this for Henrik!

Horrible play by both Sarich and Stafford there.

I'm sick and tired of watching this roster play the game casually. This club pays the players way too much money to have it spent on part-time players.

There is no reason that Karlsson had to make 42 saves tonight. They completely left him out to dry, luckily he played amazing and kept us in it.

The Sabres out played the Flames tonight but we were still in the entire game. Enroth was very good just as was Karlsson, the Flames lost because they could not capitalize on their chances they had. Not a bad effort, but not great either.

Passes couldn't stick & we gave up the puck cheaply, thought they were the biggest issues with the game.

Sarich - Get rid of him. Slow and a turnover machine. Why do we still have him? Oh yeah because every odd game he throws a huge hit. Well wake up people, his turnovers and lead feet are not worth the odd highlight reel body check.

Morrison - fighting the puck. Not looking very good. With Backlund coming back soon it better be BMo sitting and not Horak.

Really liked Stempniak and Horak's games.

I thought a lack of effort for most of the game killed us. We would pass the puck along the boards and players would wait for it to come to them instead of chasing the puck and meeting half way. When players wait for the puck to reach them, the opposition easily applies pressure. That was especially evident in the defensive zone, and because the puck support was terrible, Karlsson got left with the burden.

I noticed that a couple times with Stempniak. He should know that the ice gets worse as the game goes on. So he should have glided back to pick up the puck along the boards instead of remaining stationary.
The breakouts were terrible. No speed generated through the neutral zone. This was even more noticeable against a quick skating team like Buffalo.
Amazing work by Karlsson. Only reason game was close.
I'm pretty sure BMo is still not 100% from his knee injury. His skating doesn't have the same jump and craftiness like last year. Really hope Backlund returns to the lineup soon.

Noticed this as well, the team was looking like that would rather not skate more than they absolutely had to on the tail end of a back-to-back.

Really though this game could have gone either way. The D did a good job of limiting the Sabres to shots that HK could handle easily. Stajan and Butler looked good.

Let's get back up to .500 on Sunday.

Regehr hasn't impressed in a couple years, so we trade unimpressive for younger and more mobile unimpressive plus a prospect

The puck support was indeed awful. All three forwards seem to be flying out of the zone once a defenceman got the puck. The defencemen also didn't help matters but making bad decisions. The Sabres speed seemed to overwhelm the Flames, which is an ongoing storyline so far early in the season.

Karlsson was awesome, though. The game should have ended 8-1 or worse.

Stajan may have had his best game of the season. However, I still wonder how he scored 50+ points with the Leafs because his skill set is quite average. The Flames really need Backlund to come back soon to give the club another skilled, playmaking centre.

As bad as this team needed BMO to come back, he should of waited a little longer for his return. Its obvious his knee still isn't 100% and he looks as though he's skating at 3/4 speed out there. Good on him for wanting to play, but he's not helping us much right now.

It could be 100% he is just that slow now. Having an injury like that at his age will hinder your play that much more. He probably did not have a great training regime in the off season and he is just that much slower. I didn't want to sign him to be honest as I thought he would look out of place this year due to that injury and he is proving that everynight.

This. He was slow last year, and he was out for a long time. I don't think its because he isn't at full health, I think this is just what he's capable of now.
