Daugavins deserves to slot in. Konopka will be a scratch often get used to it.

As for Lee, he needs to get a game in and Rundblad the rookie was mediocre last game. Easy decision.

BMurr says that they are monitoring Rundblad's minutes because he isn't used to playing a full 82 game sched. He'll slot back in tomorrow because the Sens are playing back to back games. They feel that Rundblad needs time physically to adapt. Lee needs to play at some point, otherwise he's going to forget how.

Who cares if Konopka plays? Unless T.O. is dressing Orr or Rosehill, he shouldn't need him.

Understandable that they'd get Lee back in the lineup at some point. First loss in a while last game... makes sense to change it up now rather than mid-streak.

Agree with above though, Konopka will be scratched on a pretty regular basis.

Besides the interweb, copy and paste is one of computing's greatest creations.

Rundy Blood's getting the Karlsson treatment as a rookie. He had a terrible game against the Champs, so hopefully this will re-energize him for a restart with some high-level view of the game.

Lee needs to get starts here and there as well.

Konopka plain sucks! What a way to re-energize Boston for their comeback by taking the fight against Thornton.

Daugavins deserves to play.

Don't care about the other move. Wouldn't have done it, but the explanation makes sense so no complaints.

I was wondering the other day when Rundblad would be sat for Lee.

It makes sense, given that Lee typically plays with Phillips.

You also can't sit the 4 vets, and Cowen plays the other side (and is still probably more defensively responsible than Rundblad).

I'm wondering if Jerk Store can make a jersey using the DohDog's avatar as the logo, and we can start an online petition for it to be used as the Habs 3rd jersey.

This.
Who takes a fight seconds after your team scores a go-ahead goal?
Not to mention that only Butler and Condra have less hits on the team than he has. Jason Spezza has 7 while he's got only 4.
Even vs Orr and Rosehill we have Neil, Smith, Carkner possibly. All can fight much better than Konopka.
He's just useless.

Hopefully some of you guys can respond to this but I why the Rundblad hate? Everyone is saying how bad he was last game. I watched the entire game and I actually thought he looked good?

What was he doing that was so bad :S

The Sens have a platooning situation and you need to get guys in to games. There isn't much to read in to the situation. Konopka just counts his lucky stars for every day he draws a big fat NHL paycheck.

Well to be fair he has played a very short amount of minutes. Hard to rack up the hits with only a few shifts a game. But yeah, agreed about the rest. He's a good teammate to have around though and seems to be a positive presence all around so if he can time his fights a bit better, I really don't mind him being a Senator.

There is absolutely no hate towards Rundblad here. Not sure where you got that idea from. He's a rookie though and getting used to the NHL, so I can see why it's an easy decision to scratch David in order to give Lee a game, especially with the two games in two nights.

Rundblad really didn't have any worse a game than anyone else. The whole team looks bad when they're outhustled like that. Rundlbad actually had a pretty quietly good game. With that said he's still the most logical player to take out and rest for a few games to let Lee get in there and show what he's got.

Don't worry it's part of Rundblad's development. I think it's a sign that he's up here at this point and not down with Binghamton (by contrast Karlsson was sent down after 9 games.)

That's how I see it. Didn't think Rundblad played a bad game against Boston. I guess others do.

A knock against French people can't be racist since French isn't a race, it's a language :-)

The way I see it Kuba should be sitting. What is a late 2nd, 3rd round pick in comparison to the development of Rundblad, Cowen and Lee?

Seriously? That's funny since he played exactly 86 competitive games last year.

Edit: Since someone probably would dispute this, he played 73 games for the club and 13 games for team Sweden. Breakdown: 55 regular season games for Skelleftea + 18 playoff games. 9 games in Euro Hockey Tour and 4 games in the World Championship for Sweden.

So since he's already been benched a few games Ottawa will have to go past the first round if they expect Rundblad to play more games this year than last. I don't think he'll be named for the WC for Sweden this year, like Russia but unlike the rest of the European teams Sweden never name players from the AHL to the national squad.
