They then said they would probably have it all sorted out by NHL 11.

Now that 12 has come and gone and 13 is on its way I'm not sure what the outlook is, but it was at least on the table at one point.
That would have all been before the NCAA football players lawsuit. I think that's still in progress (though it may be over with now) but it adds another dimension to the process beyond just what EA and the NCAA representation bring to the table.

What's the best camera view for EASHL? I don't care for the normal be a pro view. I've been using the normal view for Versus and HUT lately but I can't even see my player on the screen a lot of the time with that view.

Even though I don't care for him a ton, I'm gonna re-name to Marco Scandella. I thought about Spurgeon or Gilbert but I'd rather be a LH shot.

Classic works, at least for me. Press "select" so the camera focuses on you instead of the puck.

To get my player to the next pro level I have to play another 10 games. In a couple games if we're losing bad, I just keep my guy in the game and watch tv instead.

Don't do that, it screws up your average rating which is really hard to get up later on.

Meanwhile, I need one more win to reach Superstar 3.

So, my first game... -5, 3 shots, 2 pims.

I've been playing offline for waaaaaaaaaaaay too long...

It's like playing in molasses, this is just nasty. Reaction times are really, painfully, slow...

Yeah, it's horrible at first. But you'll get used to it.

I suggest you start at RW, that way you can't cause too much damage you have time to adjust to EASHL.

That may not be a bad idea.

I played LD first game. Had some really good breakups, but fell for some really stupid stuff too. We also had a player goalie for the first two periods, so all my positioning was off, given that it's based on AI goalies.

Just kinda sucks, I've played probably ~7-800 offline games with a buddy, so my timing is completely reflex at this point. Going to take some serious adjusting.

Hopefully, I'll have some more time to play tonight. Today's suddenly become a super busy day.

Sure, just give me a shout and we can play some club games too. I play RD usually.

Funny to hear that you base your positioning on goalies... I base it on either blocking passing lanes or shooting lanes. But I guess that's where we differ.

I also mentioned RW because, well, we already have LW (Fel), C (BHoke), LD (WILDhockeyfan) and RD (Me). I used to play RW up until recently but I realized that I pretty much ended up killing all of the offence we had... So I decided to try if I have the same effect on the opposition.

Well, I base my positioning on blocking the middle, more than anything else. Probably doesn't work as well online, but I want to force the wingers to take shots, more than throw passes and/or garbage in front of the goalie.

I try not to go for big hits, or too many blocks, I just want people to put themselves in bad physical position, and then a quick poke check (that doesn't mean me leaving my feet) usually screws them up. Now I just need to get my timing better for online poke checks.

Our player goalie was cheating, HARD, to the middle, so I had to sit much further to the boards than I'm used to. I was hitting the faceoff dot during break-ins to just block easy short-side goals against...

I'll try RW for a few games, and see how that goes. Though I'll have to find a different Wild player to be, Prosser as a RW doesn't quite work.

Sounds similar to me, then, but you've thought it through better.

I used to play as Antti Miettinen when I was a winger.

Play a few hundred games with a friend on couch co-op, and you've got plenty of time to over-think things.

We've got nothing but time to rip each others habits to pieces.

Edit: Now I get to dig around and find the right RW. Maybe I'll go super undersized and go with Fontaine, *LOVED* him at UMD...

I've played like bit under hundred games with a friend as well (NHL 12). My style was always the more defensive one while he was more of a dangler/scorer.

Don't take me wrong, I can dangle, snipe 'n celly too but it's just not my style. I'll leave that to Fel.

I'll be back on in an hr or so. At the doctor's office right now for my arm. I'm getting quite comfy playing center so I will play either center or LD.
