So do you stick with a hot goaltender, or go back to the proven #1?
I think you should always ride a hot goalie
Tomorrow night is the third game in four nights, and Enroth has essentially played the whole of the last two games. You go to the other goaltender in that situation. That it's Ryan Miller is a bonus. If Miller had played the first two in a three-in-four situation, I think most would want the other guy playing in that situation.
I think you have to ride a hot goalie... and that might mean Miller takes a back seat tomorrow.
This is how Rask ended up the starter for a year.
Miller gets the Ottawa start for sure. Ruff announced it. To change would be ugly. Big question is if they lose, and Miller let's in a softie, who gets next start.
Based on their record. Ruff needs to ride a hot hand.

If he pitched a shutout and 1 goal game???
I guarantee NOBODY would want the other guy playing.
dont be ridiculous
The smart thing to motivate the team is to put the goalie in net who has not played the best in net this year. This shows to the team that what matters is not working hard or proving you deserve to play but rather being the coaches "favorite" is much more important.

Meh, he didn't have to do too much against Philly. You got another guy with a .922 sitting there. Play him. If he doesn't play well, go back to Enroth vs Winnipeg.
Henrik Karlsson got the loss tonight. He was the best player on the ice. Win-loss record isn't on one guy.
Umm if he stopped those two shots they would have won, even though calgary played like crap. Goalies winning or "stealing" a game for a team is pretty common. There's a reason a goaltender has a W L column under there stats..

let me remind you of what you said:

So if Miller didn;t "have much to do in a shut out in game 1, and then won giving up 1 goal against a weak team, you are telling me you would be fine with Enroth starting the 3rd game in 4 nights?

Impressive logic. Karlsson stopped over 40 shots and singlehandedly kept Calgary from getting embarrassed, but the loss is his fault. I can see the brilliance I'm up against. Take care.

I dont believe you at all
you've lost credibility
Geez, that's an overreaction.
If Enroth was the guy with the .922? I'd definitely go to him in the third game in four nights and the second of a back-to-back, because that's a good SV%, and we should be trying to reduce Miller's starts this season, and we finally have a guy who can spell him. I don't think goaltenders should be playing three in four nights if there's another capable goaltender present. That includes instances when one goaltender plays well in the first two.

It's sort of true - a short term controversy.
I play Miller tomorrow, personally. I'm curious to see how he'd bounce back here. We talked about the possibility of Enroth lighting a fire under Miller by playing well and forcing Ruff's hand a bit. Let's see how Miller bounces back.
