no controversy until Enroth fixes his Five-Hole problem.

(and even then, I reserve the right to say no controversy)

Enroth remains undefeated in shootouts.

According to NHL.com, Enroth is now 4-0 in shootouts, with 18 saves on 25 shots against. All 4 shootouts were on the road.

Just like Miller needs to fix his penchant for softies?

Not to stir the pot or anything, but I'm pretty sure one of the goals Enroth let in tonight would have been called a softy if Miller had been in net.

the breakaway? against Miller it would've been called a perfect shot... and yes, i think it was a soft goal.

the backhander by michalek was a very difficult shot to stop.

Everything Enroth gave up tonight were goal scorers' goals. Nothing wrong with what he did tonight -- he gave his team a chance to win and they picked him up when he needed it.

I was listening to Hockey Today from ESPN, and Matthew Barnaby said Miller was a world class goalie. He also noted how Miller struggles with a mental game and gives up softies.

I'm very curious who will start Tuesday. I think Miller should get the nod, get a good win for him, get his confidence up, because all in all, I think we will win more games with Miller in net.

I'd have to agree. One thing I don't like about Miller at all is his body language when he gives up a goal.

Is the Buffalo goalie controversy akin to Paul Allen deliberating over which mega-yacht to take globetrotting?

No there wasn't. Overall, he played pretty well. However, Miller would have been crucified for giving up 3 five-hole goals (1 in regulation, 2 in the shootout).

You mean you don't like it when your goalie throws his arms in the air after every other goal that gets scored on him.

I was thinking more the "shrug," but sometimes it is even more than that, yes. Jhonas seems to just accept it and move on.

Which quite easily means...

Enroth ... Back up (gently criticized)
Miller ... Starter (harshly criticized)

opinions, insults, or wishes won't change that fact.

Oh, and Miller will start Tuesday guaranteed. And he should.

Yep, I hate his body language too, makes it look like he's blaming his teammates.

Well this just opens up a rather gigantic can of worms... I don't like where this is headed, TBH. Very worried about the effect of this on the team. I LOVE Enroth and I love that he's getting starts and playing well (Better than Miller, and the team has played better in front of Jhonas, too), but Miller is the leader of this team and if he starts getting all pouty and immature about this... oh boy.

Yea, and it's a good thing he's a mature professional. So there is ZERO chance of that happening.

Then trade him, he is supposed to be a leader, that means doing whatever it takes to win. If Enroth is playing well, he deserves to play.

FYI, I would never trade Miller. Just saying.

Boy, was I wrong with my last post!

Gotta man up on this one. I read the situation completely wrong.....

And it looks like we have the makings of a serious goalie competition at this point.

(Which isn't necessarily bad.)

Watching Miller's muted enthusiasm at the conclusion of tonight's game... hanging around the periphery of the team celebration..... caught my eye as well.

Big, big difference from Lalime's cheerleading. (Might be reading too much into this also....)

But, very nicely done, Jonas.

Yes Miller was visibly angry before the game according to TBN. Just ****ing support your teammates goddamnit.

It's not that simple. Fans trivialize and distill so much, it's sickening.

And it's absolutely true that people would be giving Miller crap for the goals Enroth gave up in this game. The double standard is, too, ridiculous.

Miller is the better goalie still but Enroth is hot and THE TEAM is playing better in front of him. Ride him, I say. I think Miller starts Tuesday but I would have bet money he would get the start against Ottawa.
Ruff needs to control this a bit but competition is always good. You rise to it or fall apart.

Miller's a pro. And he has all the motivation in the world to show everyone why he's number 1.

I expect him to do just that.

Well I guess I should of been more clear. There are some reporters/columnists that have agendas and write crap to drive traffic to their blogs and articles. And there are a few (very few) that are objective and don't write that way. And they still get good traffic to their blogs and articles.
