I sometimes wonder the same thing. could it be the grinding style they play that wears them down? I also think other teams really lift there game/physical play against the pens which might have a impact.

Lovejoy broke his wrist, Staal fell awkwardly after punishing Tavares, Michalek took a shot off his hand, Niskanen took a knee on knee hit, Kennedy took a couple big hits in the Buffalo game.

It's hockey, we'll get healthy eventually. People tend to think that we're due some stretch of time where no one gets hurt. Injuries don't stop b/c they've piled up in the past.

Sid and Staal should be back within the next couple games, TK isn't far off, Michalek less than a month. We're fine.

You better not be giving me false hope

The thought of all those guys coming back in within the next couple of weeks is giving me a Raging clue.

Thanks guys. I'm going with a big group of Kyuss fans, so it should be a blast.

Would you believe I partook with Homme and the boys backstage and waxed about music the first two times the Queens came through Winnipeg? Good times.

Let's get a win tonight and hopefully also give Richards something to whine about.

I think Neal is always the best bet for the first goal. He's not affraid to shoot it and shoot it hard. I'd say Geno but he seems too intent on scoring only a highlight reel goal right now. Maybe he'll eventially score while flipping the puck in the air while he skates through 3 defenders but I'm not going to bank on it.

What I will bank on is that Sullivan will get hurt tonight because the hockey gods are hell bent on Sid never getting the opportunity to play beside any of the skilled wingers Shero picks for him. ( I know using the word skilled for Sully at this point might be scrutinized by many on this board but I've been happy with him so far)

My theory of why so many guys are getting hurt is that the new NHL has made it possible for fragile players to last a lot longer than they have in the past. The leagues becoming a bunch of Ferraris, small, light and fast but in the shop half the time getting tuned up. It used to be only tough guys were able to survive in this league. Like I said it's just one of my many theories.

For the Kings, they will insert enforcer Kevin Westgarth into the lineup and will shuffle their bottom two lines a bit:

Simon Gagne - Anze Kopitar - Justin Williams
Scott Parse - Mike Richards - Dustin Brown
Dustin Penner - Jarret Stoll - Ethan Moreau
Kyle Clifford - Brad Richardson - Kevin Westgarth

Rob Scuderi - Jack Johnson
Willie Mitchell - Drew Doughty
Alex Martinez - Matt Greene

Westgarth is the son in law of former Steelers head coach Bill Cowher.

Maybe they'll switch them up throughout the game... ? I'de much rather see Bortuzzo than Picard.

How would they do that exactly? They aren't dressing 7 d-men, or at least shouldn't be.
