Was hoping this would be more like the Canada Games, as in a best on best tournament.
The players were selected by random draw. All 13 Hockey Canada divisions are represented by at least one player. Curtis Hunt (Sask) and Jim Hulton (Ont) were selected to the coaching staff.

Its deffinetly a random draw. Its understandable, but I dont think anyone will look at this list as a top players for Canada team.
Well some of the top guys are there.... Bouchard is the top prospect for this years Q draft.
Correct, and Cornell from Upper Canada is a top prospect this year in Ontario, but I think we all can agree that its not a list of the top players in Canada, just a few sprinked in with some good players at the age group.
Random....yes, but not completely random as each of the 13 branches chose only 1 player at each position. For example, why did hockey BC choose Gropp at forward over Virtanen? I'm positive it's out of respect for the highly competitive/results driven nature of the BCMML, take Virtanen off of his team and you handicap them for the entire time he's gone. Both Gropp and Hicketts play for a hockey academy (Okanagan).
