This is the first of the six meetings between these two teams this season. Buffalo is coming off another good showing by back up Enroth winning 2-1 over Calgary Friday night in Buffalo. While Ottawa is coming off of a 2-1 lose at home to Montreal.

Keys to the Game for Buffalo
Stay out of the Box - Ottawa's power play is 2nd in the league at 26.5%
Draw penalties against - Ottawa's penalty kill is 5th worst in the league at 74.2%
Play a full 60 minutes. Buffalo has struggled putting together a full 60 minutes at times so far this young season and need to start doing so on a regular basis
Round out the scoring. Getting balanced scoring from more than just the top line will go a long way

To paraphrase Mark Twain,

"Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress Senator. But I repeat myself."

I'm not trying to be that guy, I'm just trying to avoid any jinx in this GDT title....that being said, Canadian Senators are not elected, they are appointed.

4-2 (empty-netter) good guys. Vanek, Goose, Gerbe, Leopold

Should be a fun game!

Looking for another strong performance from Leino, Boyes and Myers. We need to take advantage of their PK. Also expecting a bounce back from Miller.

Let's go boys!

Gonna be at old SBP for the game.

I am currently undefeated in Ottawa when I see the game live wearing my Vanek home jersey. Let's keep the trend up!

I say Miller stops 40 and we win 4-2. Shots will be 42-22 Ottawa but this time it's our goaltender and shooters who have the advantage

hope no one thinks this will be a cakewalk. Sabres win a close one, 4-3, in regulation.

Unless there was a shakeup of the lines today, I believe Buffalo's lines are inaccurate. I don't know about Ottawa's at all.

The Buffalo ones should look like this (off the top of my head, though I can't quite remember if it was Leopold or Ehrhoff on the top pairing last night):

Vanek-Adam-Pomminville
Leino-Roy-Stafford
Gerbe-Gaustad-Boyes
McCormick-Ellis-Tropp

Regehr-Leopold
Sekera-Myers
Gragnani-Ehrhoff

I'm thinking it's going to be another close one - 3-2 Sabres, come from behind victory.
