Flyers/Penguins 5OT 9th best game in ESPN history

Good for the Flyers, this list is heavy on recent games, as well as many regular season games.

i saw this and i got really excited. there wasnt much philly in this broadcast, with the exception of pete rose. however, in between numbers they flash just random sports things, and like 2 before the 5OT game, there was bobblehead doll of john leclair. i just wanted to see if anyone else saw it.

Hopefully the Penguins/Caps 4OT game...

No, I don't even think it was on the list. The Isles/Caps Game 7 4OT was though. This was voted on by the fans I beleive, and this game was the highest on the list for hockey. The Ducks/Stars 5OT game I think was #25.

The list only counted games that were televised on ESPN.

It was a great game, but IMO the Caps-Isles should be above it because it was a game 7.

I know, and I suppose I agree, the emphasis was on the recent games though,

that said that 4OT game was ahead of the Ducks/Stars 5OT

While McGwire's 61st, Bonds' 71st, and Ripken's 2131st are considered by many to be great accomplishments (though not all necessarily by myself), the list was supposed to be greatest *games.* Those *games* weren't that great.

They were just regular season games.

I watched Bonds hit #71 and #72 on ESPN. If I remember correctly the Giants had to win that game against the Dodgers to stay alive (if not they were eliminated within a day before that). The Giants lost that game 11-10.
