Montreal's Road to the Finals

I know it's not the ideal start to the season, but it almost seems that if Montreal was to make the playoffs again this year, the ideal match ups that could lead us to the final would be Pittsburgh, Boston and Washington (who are likely to finish 1,2,3 by the end of season)

Montreal just seems to match up decently with these guys

There are no ideal matchups.

If they are destined to win the cup, then they have no other choice then to beat the 4 teams they would face, whoever they are.

Those are hardly ideal matchups.

There's no such thing as an ideal matchup.

Take 2008 for example. Our 2 playoff opponents were Boston and Philadelphia. In the regular season, we went a combined 12-0-0 against them.

In the playoffs? We barely held off 8th place Boston and got our ***** handed to us by Philly.

You're predicting that all three of those teams would survive until they met Montréal?

Just trying to say that given our recent seasonly performances (points wise), we do very well against Boston, Pittsburgh and Washington.

and thats why I didn't include Philly lol

The Cheesepuffs had our number in the playoffs post-lockout. But, hopefully, the Leafs get to play Washington, Buffalo or Pittsburgh in the playoffs and maybe destroy whoever they play.

The only thing that could come close to an ideal matchup is Boston and it will be most likely a 4/5 matchup.

this is like an 8 year old picking the name of his first born.

A little premature.
