Teams have really stepped up their physical game on Hall lately...if we don't send a message that these liberties aren't to be taken, Hall is gonna get rocked hard really soon...

We score a couple early, we walk away with it. We turned up the heat at the end and they nearly passed out. I don't mean Phoenix is a bad team like Columbus but they aren't a good team and we're better. Tonight we just ran out of clock and played tight too long tonight. Should have opened it up earlier.

We're like the Eagles in the NFL when it comes to the last two minutes of a game. Do we have no plan out there at the end of games? That and shootouts. The coaches have got to start to come up with stuff. We've thrown away a lot of points at the end of games this year.

I'm still loving the hell out of our D, though. Even my whipping boy Peckham was great tonight. Teubert looks solid. He's not scared to be out there at all. There's a million reasons to fire Dean Lombardi but that Penner trade and the Smyth fiasco might end up being the last ones.

Who is calling for Hall's head exactly?

Most of us are strictly talking about the last couple of games. He has been bad. That doesn't mean we think he sucks are that he won't turn it around.

yup, the oilers and coyotes play a similar style and have been doing a lot of the same things...winning with the lead, playing a solid team game, and getting consistency nearly every night.

Anyway, RNH is just an amazing player, not much more to say about that.

I thought that Horcoff and Smyth had a lot of jump in the 3rd, i would like to see Hemsky on that line when he comes back to give them a triggerman.

Dubnyk should have never given up that 3rd goal, that hurt the momentum that the team was building up. I hope that his confidence isn't shaken since he is now the clear #2 goalie.

Hall seemed to be tripping all over the ice, he's fighting it a bit now but i have absolutely no doubt that he will get his mojo back despite many people calling for his head in the GDT.

I'm glad that Paajarvi got a point, lets hope that kickstarts his game.

Lets just move on to the next one, can't win 'em all.
2nd period was forgettable at best. The 1st was not that bad at all. some good back and forth, a bit sloppy but the oilers were in it for the first 20.

yes. The oilers have the right attitude every night. Even in a loss, they have the mental fortitude that I fully expect a solid effort next game out. It's a dramatic difference from last year.

Not really. They had quite a few one goal losses last year.

honest question, let's say his role was switched with Eberle from the begining of the season, how many goals do you think Ebs would have? defenetely not 3, that's a given

Horcoff back to his old self after his obligatory 5 or 6 decent games to start a year. Once again he blows everyone else away in the TOI for forwards. He leads the forwards in pp toi in the game. He has been above 50% on the dot in a whopping 1 out of the last 10 games. Good old Horc burnt out after 10 games once again.

Move jones back to the third line when Hemsky is back and move Gagner back to center and Belanger to the 4th line and Lander to the farm

how about we put dubnyk on the bench where he belongs until there is back to back? wow I guess that is too logical considering the starter is putting up historic stats.

If we started Khabibulin I think we get a different result. Dubbie wasn't bad, but we were a extra save away from pulling points from this game.

Liked what I saw on in the third, good rally.

Renney rode Horcoff far too hard tonight and we all know the end result whenever that happens. He should have been getting Belanger out there for the occasional face-off in his place.

on your first point; personally, I don't think the oilers had much say in the pace or chances up until the kid line started to break into the centre of the ice. They opened things up because they were starting to solve the phoenix puzzle...it's not that the coaches forced them to do so.

2nd point; the oilers didn't appear to have much going for them at the end because phoenix didn't give them much hope. The coyotes were just that good tonight.

3rd point we agree on. The defence was not stellar but for a "down" game it was still a pretty good game.

Ya I am not really sure why we played Dubynk this game. Khabi has been so hot. We have back to back games coming up after the Montreal game, so Dubynk is going to get into one of those.

You have to earn your way onto the top line. Ebs is a better player so he would more than 0. PRV doesn't do much besides go wide and shoot weak wrist shots into the crest of the goalie's jersey.

Phoenix is a better team than the Oilers, don't let this hot start fool you into thinking otherwise.
The Oilers have a brighter future but they aren't there yet while Phoenix has most of their players from back to back playoff teams still on the roster.

You get what I mean. There was hope that they could tie it, notwithstanding that running-around-like-headless-chickens with the empty net.
