Winnipeg Free Press: Jets flying on empty. You hate to blame just two guys for a loss but if Little and Wheeler don’t pick it up soon, this team is going to continue to struggle to win games without being able to put pucks in the net.
Winnipeg Free Press: Stuart brings grit back to blueline. Stuart is your slow and steady wins the race type d-man. He doesn’t bring the flash but does those little things well throughout the game. Coach Noel loves what he brings to this team.
TSN: Long road trip catches up with Jets. It has been an unexpectedly successful road trip for this team. They left Winnipeg below .500 and even if they lose to Buffalo, will end the 7 games away from the friendly confines of the MTS Centre at 3-3-1.
Winnipeg Sun: Pavelec gives Jets chance. If there is any question as to how the Jets have been in every game this road trip it is thanks to #31. With the exception of the unusually high scoring affair in Philly, he has been lights out during this 7 game road trip.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets snapshots – some offence would be nice. Need to capitalize on PP, Biron has Jets number, Big Buff playing testy, missed penalty calls, at worst team is 3-3-1 on longest road trip of season, penalty trouble, Burmistrov’s physical game, and of course my favorite line of the article:
The GST at MSG? A Jets line playing at Madison Square Garden or paying the tax at a Chinese restaurant?
Kyle looks at the Jets prospect list and picks out 3 Top Performers from this past weekend's action.
Barrie Colts – Ivan Telegin
The Colts had another tough weekend, going 1-2 with an OT loss. They did, however, come up with a big 5-2 win over Windsor last Thursday night, with Ivan Telegin leading the way with a goal and two helpers (all at even strength). The Colts overcame an early deficit to shoot down the Spitfires and improve their record to 8-6-0-1. Mark Scheifele added two assists in the game, part of a 4-point weekend for the Jets prospect.
IC’s Drew Mindell, Richard Pollock, Ezra Ginsburg with fellow Peggers and Jets sympathizers took over MSG last night:
Winnipeg Free Press: Celebrity hockey classic features former NHL players. If your business raised the most money, who would you take first overall?
Jets Nation: All you gotta do is call. A look at three guys that should be considered to take over for the injured Jets.
Winnipeg Jets: Jets/Sabres preview. The last road game of the seven. It feels like ages since the Jets have played at the MTS Centre. A win tomorrow night in Buffalo would be a significant way to end this road trip.
Jets Affiliate IceCaps News:
The Flow: Aebischer falters, but IceCaps wrap up successful road trip. If you thought the Jets had a successful road trip the farm team took 10 of a possible 12 points.
Jets next opponent news – Buffalo Sabres:
Buffalo News: Sabres’ Miller has explicit desire to return to net and win. An angry Ryan Miller, who is usually quite mild mannered, doesn’t bode well for the Jets. Audio of Miller and Sabres coach Lindy Ruff available in link.
Buffalo News: On the Beat chat. Discussing all things Sabres including the Jets visit, starting at 3 pm EST.
Illegal Curve Radio: Interview with Sabres beat writer Mike Harrington. Had a chance to catch up with the Sabres beat writer on Saturday who gave us some insight into this Sabres team and also said he is "looking forward to his first trip Winnipeg in January".
