He's starting his 5th full season in the NHL, and played parts of 2 previous. He is certainly an NHL vet.
Just to further comment, the problem I have with Byfuglien is is unwillingness (or inability) to show improvement). I think his free pass time is up. He needs to move up, or get benched.
I completely agree with this. He is either not listening to the coaches or is simply not able to execute what is being asked of him. At his point in time I find him about as defensively responsible as former Winnipeg Jets fan favourite Shawn Cronin, "Cronin the Barbarian"
the rest of the D-men are really flourishing under Huddy's watch. Stuart looks great and Bogosion is really improving. You can see a difference in bogo's game from the beginning of the pre-season until now.
Buff's best shift was his first of the pre-season and he has regressed ever since. Lowering his ice-time would show him that his play is not what is to be expected of him. I am not averse to Buff moving up to forward or residing in a new area code in the future.
Maybe tonight Buff is +3 with two goals an assist and a scrap. or he is -3 with 6 minutes in penalties, leads the team in giveaways and wears goat horns at the end of the night.
He is really not on his game right now.
