Petrov producing...

In spite of being given limited ice time, he has clearly been the biggest offensive threat on the Leopards...imagine what he could do with an increased role...blue chip all the way...

His contract finally ends this year. It will be up to him whether he wants to come over.

He is doing really well and is solidifying himself as a leader on Ak Bars. Also called up to the 1st NT for Karjala Cup.

Thanks. Those are some solid numbers. I cannot wait to see how he translates that talent to the NHL.

The Krills are going to be very important to the Islanders taking that next step. Petrov has the ball in his court after this season. Petrov's contract is done in Russia after this year so if Snow can capitalize on the dice roll that originally made Petrov Islanders' property then

For a little while there were a lot of fans that were down on Petrov's development in Russia. Most had completely forgot that Krill was even an Islander's prospect but good to see the kid is coming into his own.

People need to realize the old boys network is still alive and well with many clubs in the KHL- rookies simply don't get the opportunities they do here in the NHL.

Petrov will be with the Islanders next season...book it.

Other than to play against the best hockey players in the world ? If he's truly competitive, like most hockey players are, he'll want to come to North America to play against the best. He stated last year he wanted to.

What about the likes of Ovy and Malkin... Petrov is not in their class, but was rated vert highly, the derailing factor in Petrov falling in the draft was his status with Russia.

However, like the aforementioned players, the NHL is always going to be the league where players want to be. Although the KHL can dish out the money, the NHL is still the prominent league in the world for premiere hockey.

I could be wrong, but I feel like there is more a chance for kids in Russia to be able to name NHL players, oppose to kids in America being able to name anyone in the KHL (that is not a spec to come over to NA).
