Oh sure, now my second favorite team is now the Blues... And I hate their game ops. At least it wasn't the Rangers.

I've followed Hitch his entire career, and I'm still not sure whether I hate the guy or like the guy.

Anybody else like this?

He's such an insufferably smug SOB, but he's also kind of right about everything hockey.

Actually, I've been having a friendly back-and-forth with Jeff Little (http://tenminutemisconduct.com/) all day today on Twitter. That's how I happened across it.

Actually interested to see how Hitch will do there and what he has learned in his time away. The Blues have a younger team and he cant bench them all.

This makes me sick to my stomach that stl needs a shakeup at 6-7 and we stand pat!!!! Wtf is going on? Am I crazy to feel this way?? I can't believe we have done nothing. I expected to wake up this morning and everybody would be fired and replaced but I forgot I'm a CBJ fan!

Money to sign a goalie? I must have missed something or some bizarre new rule in which coaches count against the cap.

Priest is what's going on. Isn't obvious by now Mase and maybe another roster player or two are the scapegoats?

What I do know, with the Hitch move done, is that I will call my season ticket rep and demand action. Maybe others should do the same as well.

I didn't want Hitch to be our coach again. Not because I don't like him or didn't think he would do a good job, but forcing him to work under that asshat Howson again? Why don't you just tar and feather him instead?

Nope. You're right that Hitch has nothing to do with the cap. And I don't suspect we'll go on a shopping spree now without salary going back the other way.

Just my way of saying, WTF was Clitter talking about.

We are a cap team now. At least for this year.

Under most circumstances, I would wish Hitch good luck, but since he's going to the Blues, I hope he's a failure. After Hitch said that Michael Blunden would not clear waivers if the Jackets sent him to Syracuse 2 or 3 years ago, I've been a little leery of his judgement.

I think this is just salt in the wound! Everyone here didn't want Hitch back as coach, why? He has the best record of any coach of this sorry assed franchise and got us to our only playoff appearance. He did this with the crappy players Howsen and Maclean gave him. So he gets fired and we bring in a rookie coach with more of the same crappy Howsen players now
we are off to our worst start in franchise history and are the laughing stock of the sports world with a 64 million dollar payroll. Hitch should have been made GM and coach so he could have moved his own players around as he sees fit. But now he'll be in St Louis and will come in here and kick our ass regularly. The crap just keeps getting deeper! This team is like that movie Major League where the owners wanted them to lose so they could move or sell them for non support.

Halak better get his skates sharpened, he's going to see plenty of ice time win or lose.

I wish Hitch all the best in St. Louis.

I find it utterly amazing the Blues take action at 6-7-0 and meanwhile not a damn thing is happening at Nationwide.

The timing of this news may indicate some type of change might be coming in Columbus... I'm not surprized nothing happened in Columbus today, afterall, it was Sunday. On the other hand the leaked news today of Hitchcock going to SL may mean nothing.

Or maybe nothing happened today because of a phone call that may have gone like this...

Howson: Hello Hitch? After that debacle in Philly tonight, I'm gonna make a change. I need you at the Arena tomorrow at 9.
Hitch: Oh, um, hey... Scott. Yeah, I was just gonna call you.

Could be, I'm thinking SL might know more about what is going on in McConnell's office than we do... The Jacket orgainzation is getting some negative print in the NHL media after the Philly debacle (no links, but I did read some today).

Shouldn't we get a pick or prospect or bag of pucks or something? I mean without Hitch's input our season will begin to spiral out of control
