I'd expect:
Greening-Spezza-Michalek
Filatov-Foligno-Alfie
Kdaug-Smith-Condra
Winchester-Da Costa-Butler

however I think Foligno, Winchester, DaCosta, and Konopka's spots in this situation are all liable to change be interchanged.
Our lines against the Canes are these:

Greening-Spezza-Michalek
Foligno-Winchester-Alfie
Daugavins-Smith-Condra
Filatov-Konopka-Butler

I know everyone's angry/confused that Filatov's on the 4th, but look for lines 2-4 to be pretty even in terms of ice time, and look for Filatov on the power play.

Don't expect Alfie, Foligno, Filatov or Butler to score tomorrow. What a strange move to call up Filatov for what will be his 4th game in four nights. And sure, Da Costa hasn't been exactly good on the 2nd but why not try him on the third?

Meh.

Looks like they don't want to split up Smith Daug and Condra.

Has Filatov been officially recalled? Or is he just in Ottawa for his meeting with Murray?

Filatov on the fourth line is utter non-sense and makes no sense or logic, what so ever! What is the point in doing this? I just fail to understand this move???

If they really wama give Filatov a real genuine chance, then, they should at least be fair and give him a modest stretch at top-6, and see what he can do when he gets accustome to the NHL system.

Ideally the line up should be.. ( Greening is a natural center )

Foligno - Spezza - Michelak

Filatov - Greening - Alfredsson

.. or

Filatov - Spezza - Michalek

Foligno - Greening - Alfredsson

And please play RUNDBLAD, for the sake of ............. !

Btw, Sestito hitted him... recalled.
A Pens player boarded him... recalled

I think if it would be only a meeting hewould come tomorrow or today but not after the game against WBS.

I don't know if these will be the lines tonight but if they are I think its fine.

If Filatov is actually going to play this game, then the 4th line looks like the best place for him.

If his problem is that he can't play with confidence and is ovewhlemed and timid in the NHL, why put him on the most targeted line to play against the best players in the league?

And though Spezza is our top center he is not always the easist guy to play with .

Let Filatov and Butler play with/compete against each other and we'll see if one or both are NHL ready and put Konopka in the middle to take the face offs and protect the two rookies.Who knows, maybe this will spur Butler on to score a couple more goals.

And I guess they are going to see if either of those players will stay here and Da Costa goes to Bingo or if Da Costa stays and they go down.

edit:I see Da Costa has already been sent down. Great opportunity for one or both of Butler or Filatov to step up.

Stop panicking, if we get a 2 goal lead I can guarantee Filatov will play on one of the top 2 lines for a few shifts. If we're getting blown out he's gonna get the same.

I see this move as going into the game with 11 forwards and Filatov. They might be checking his development to see if he's ready for a scoring role.

Did zetterberg not start off at the wing in Detroit? I thought he was moved to center because they were lacking in that position.

I like Filly but MacLean would have to be mad to put him to the first or the second line after three games in three days when he had one of the best ice times. Plus he will play in the fourth line with Konopka... but with Butler too. IMO he will be passer and Bobby shooter in this line... Konopka will be a man who will get FO and defense.

To his position. He played a center in Russia too so he knows to play there so maybe MacLean will try him there.

Greening is a complimentary player, not a go to guy.

So the games against Canes and Jets will determine what they will do with Filatov - give him the roster spot or let him go to Russia.

Hoping Filatov can find his game up here, don't want to lose him to the KHL.

Good for Filatov. He has played too much recently so 4th line duties are fine. I think before he is truly passed judgement he should see some action with players like Regin and Alfredsson.

This is good. DaCosta will be a great center and has so much skill but he clearly needs to adjust in the AHL for a little while

I wouldn't even want him to play tonight to be honest, and I'm a really big supporter of his.

Let him rest, letting him play in his 4th game in 4 nights, is almost setting him up for failure.

Sit him and play him the next game.
