WOW our D is just stupid stacked...

I have to think that GMDM will move some D prospects for some offensive help. Such a log jam on the back end for he Yotes.

Lukas Sutter, Sebastian Collberg, Pontus Aberg, Kerdiles, Bozon, Winther, Gemel Smith, Phil Di Guisseppe, Martin Frk, Colton Sissons, Dalton Thrower, Daniil Zharkov, Kosmachuk, Brady Vail, Andreas Athanasiou are all still on the board. We can get another great player at 58.

Now would be the perfect time to trade Summers to the Oilers for their early 2nd. + our 4th. I'd like to get in early on these guys above, because I don't think any of them will be left at 58. (well, Athanasiou will be there, but I don't like him)

My kid got a Summers jersey (he met him 2yrs ago at the prospect camp and Summers talked w/him for 15mins, he loved it and now Summers is his favorite young player), but he is buried behind Schlemko, Stone and will quickly be passed by Gormley and Rundblad...and then later down the line by Murphy.

2012-2013 OEL/Michalek/Yandle/DeMo/Klesla/Rundblad 7th (Stone/Schlemko)
2013-2014 OEL/Michalek/Yandle/Gormley/Klesla/Rundblad 7th (Stone/Schlemko)
2014-2015 OEL/Michalek/Yandle/Gormley/Klesla/Rundblad 7th (Stone/Murphy)
2015-2016 OEL/Rundblad/Yandle/Murphy/Gormley/Stone 7th (?)

I really don't see where Summers is going to fit in...and I think he is NHL ready, we need to give him a shot with another org and no time like the present to get Frk...who a year ago was a top 10 pick, much like Saad who fell into the 2nd round.

The way I see it..

OEL-Michalek
Yandle-Morris
Klesla-

Is set. The open spot is between Stone and Rundblad. Rundblad has the higher potential it just depends on the approach they take with his development.

The seventh spot is between summers and schlemko. Id prefer to keep summers and deal schlemko. I dont see how you keep both though.

I like thr idea of getting Lombardi back or going after Roy in buffalo after the picks they made in the draft.

While Whitney may be gone I think Doan will resign.

Boedker-Vermette-Doan
Torres-Hanzal-Vrbata
Pyatt-Lombardi-Korpi
Chip-Gordon-Brown

Thats exactly how I'm seeing the d play out as well Red. I'd be surprised if Rundblad makes the team out of camp but I do think we'll see him up at some point during the year.

Round 2 starting now...keeping my fingers crossed somehow for Frk.

Montreal with Galchenyuk, Collberg and Bozon.... not a bad draft for them so far.

Not a bad first impression by the new GM.

PIT takes Oskar Sundqvist with the 3rd rounder they got from us.

Galchenyuk reminds me a lot of Evgeni Malkin. Long wingspan, great stride, etc. Can't wait to see this guy play for Team USA in the future. I think he will end up being the best player out of this draft.

And, to me, Yakupov reminds me a lot of Pavel Bure. He has that explosive flair. I still think Galchenyuk will be the better player.

Did anybody see Trouba get interviewed by that blonde hottie on TSN? Trouba couldn't get that goofy grin off his face. Pretty funny.

Considering we drafted 2 Dmen in this draft, looks like we are going to have 2 rookies on D next season.

One has nothing to do with the other. They've already got five vets locked up anyway. I'd expect one of Rundblad, Summers, Stone or apparently Goncharov to see bottom pairing minutes, but that's about it. Schlemko is the #7.

Anyone get the feeling that with Frk & Andreas that the DeadThings got some good players?

Frk, maybe, but I don't see Athanasiou putting it together.

Yes, but at this stage, these are all hope and prayer type picks, why not pick kids that have all the tools and maybe they can find the tool box.

We took an "overager" with our 2nd when plenty of younger players were on the board. I'm happy with Samuelsson and Melindy, but Martinook and Holland I'm not.
