First prikol'no means awesome in Russian, or so I am told.
Secondly, I love this guys play and figured he needed his own mancrush thread.
The saves he made in the crease (3 by my count) were awesome, and he always seems to be in the right position defensively. I think we are all overlooking that the kid is still only 23, and I def expect him to put up at least 50 points this year.
I'm not crazy about moving Artie away from center, but it's hard to deny how well that line has been playing. Artie is making some excellent plays in the defensive end to spring his linemates for the transition.
Stepan said Anisimovís defensive work and his work on the boards has been the catalyst, not to mention the reason why Anisimov was awarded the celebratory Broadway Hat for his efforts Wednesday.
So Artie was the catalyst of the Step line recently, and the catalyst for the Pack line last year.
Do you guys think Artie has a higher ceiling than Dubinsky?
I always have. I always thought he was being misused as a 3rd line defensive player he showed it last year that he had more to offer. That line didn't work out at the start of the season but that's fine because he is making the most of his opportunity now. He is a great defensive player and that has been translating into goals for Stepan and Gaborik. He will get going once he nets a goal or two and the. Look out, can't believe he beat Anderson and hit the post last night but oh well that's just how it goes some nights.
Stepan has just been able to find Gaborik, who can beat most goalies in the league when he has room to snipe. Somebody in the Ottawa GDT was defending Anderson on Gabby's 2nd goal and said "its a 2 on 1 with Marian ****ing Gaborik, what do you expect?". If that line can keep creating chances, which probably won't just disappear, having an elite scorer like Gabby makes it a very good line when you have two guys who can get him the puck, one of which is very apt at turning defense into offense.
