Man leave him alone hes obviously effected by all of this just look at his point total. I know because i him in my fantasy team, hes usually easily a ppg but so far hes got like 4 points in 13 games or something its actually pretty sad, so lets just play hard but dont injure him i need him lol, hes the x factor on my team.

classless to boo him...thats his freaking brother thats hurt, I'm sure he cares a whole hell of a lot more than any of you or the fans in the arena. Let him be, he lives with it as it is, there was no malicious intent to hurt his own damn brother.

I predict he will be booed everytime he touches the puck, but I doubt if any ranger player is going to do anything crazy. The old retaliation days are dwindling, and as has been said his brother plays for the team.

Why would anyone boo Eric Staal?

Did you boo Marc Staal over the last 4 years every time he hammered Eric and Jordan? Quite frankily Marc has layed some huge hits on both of them, over the last four seasons, and I don't recall Rangers fans booing Marc for it.

Because Marc Staal plays for the Rangers, and has not put either of his brothers out for a season.

And even if he had, it would be Penguins or Canes fans booing Marc, in that scenario.

Why do Ranger fans boo Potvin but not Ulf Samuelsson?

The boo birds will be out, no doubt about it. We miss Mark and he's at fault, clean or not, he did it to his own brother and many don't understand that.

So I should "boo" someone because of a clean, hard hit that is essentially a hockey play that most fans are eager to see more of?

No, sorry... but I will "boo" someone like Jarkko Ruutu, who has a history of dirty plays.

Its a sport. Cheering and Booing is a part of it. Nobody is getting hurt from being a noise that rhymes with Mooo

No, you boo because he did something negative to effect your team. It's why I boo Tom Brady as a Jets fan. It's why Red Sox fans boo Derek Jeter. It's why Knicks fans booed Reggie Miller.

I could care less if it was a clean hit or not, he has had a negative effect on our team! That is why I will boo.

Root for the St. Louis Cardinals if you don't like booing.

Well, if you " could care less" .....then you need to make a better effort to care less.

What's with this less than 100% cr*p? Either commit to caring less all the way, or just admit you do care to a certain degree

Well you asked a brilliant question, and it required every once of my deductive capabilities to come up with the answer. Anything else you want to contribute?

Eric needs to put one in his own net as partial restitution.

I really hope to hear some loud chants. perhaps a harmonious ***hole chant to start the game.. could really throw Stall off his game and get the crowd into the game nice and early. fully expect him to get boo'd everytime he touches the puck and huge cheers everytime someone checks him.

I can picture Callahan landing a nice hit and the crowd erupting

CANT WAIT!

I'm not much for booing, but have no probs in this situation. We all know Eric feels awful Marc can't play and he's probably an awesome dude...but so what? Fact is he knocked out our best defenseman. Of course he's going to get booed. As far as I'm concerned, that's how it should be.

The booing of players on our own team is a whole other thing. I hate those fans.

No, many don't. lol

I don't think "classy" is a necessary word in any of this though.
I don't think one has to be too upset to boo something at a sporting event. Nor should they be called classless if they do.

People being ******** over those calling for the boos seems just as "classless" for the same reasons of pointless butthurtness (if they were ******** because of E.Staal in the first place).

IMO, he should be booed 100% of the time. I dont care if he feels bad. He should. He gave his brother, and the Rangers #1, All-Star defenseman a concussion and he is no where near returning.
