Jaroslav Modry retires

As you can see here, http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=8593, a Flyers legend today made the decision to retire from hockey.

We'll miss you, Modry!

Maybe this thread should be merged with the "Kubina is a plug" one, just to remind people that it could be worse. Modry had a pretty solid career all in all though, even if the pace of the game had passed him by when we acquired him.

When is the number retirement? Probably next season, right? Although for a guy of his caliber I could see them getting his up there ASAP.

dude played with a heavy heart during the playoffs. it's not that easy to play and focus on hockey when your father passes away

He has already retired after the season 2010/11 and lived with his family in USA for half a year, but this January Marty Straka asked him to come back for the rest of the season - and so he did. He says this time it's final decision (which is what Dom Hasek has said 3 times already lol)
