Kind of period I expected.
Wouldn't be surprised if it ends 0-0 after the OT

I'm not sure we have room for Desharnais on the team if we're ever healthy. Pleks and Eller are top 2 centers, Gomez is something and Desharnais is not a 4th liner.
I think DD can play wing, making 3 nice scoring lines.

Pacioretty Plek Gionta
AK Eller Cammy
Cole Gomez DD
Darche Noek Moen

Plekanec is schooling the kids thus far, if Montreal scores an even strength goal I bet it will come from that line.

Gill, as I already said before, needs to start sitting. Yes, he's tall and effective on the P.K., but I don't think it's worth seeing a guy like Emelin (who brings everything we lack on the defensive end, in terms of physicality) being benched for the 6'7'' veteran. Especially because we waited for him so long to come overseas, and now that we've got him, we'd rather play some pylon than a guy who's playing good hockey in his first North-American games. Let him play get used to the style and he'll be beasting in no time.

But it's not even surprising when your coach plays Darche over Eller on the power play. That's all you have to know.

It really seems like playing with Subban can be a blessing and a curse for his teammates. Obviously sometimes he's going to find people with great passes, but one thing that I've noticed is when he's carrying the puck and looking for someone to pass it off to, people often aren't in a good position for a pass. I think part of that is probably because his creativity is tough on his own teammates. They never know which way he's going to turn and skate, so it's hard for them to find the passing lanes. The problem with this, of course, is that if no one is open, he'll just hang onto the puck too long.

Not sure what they can do about this. I'm sure he'll get better with more experience, and his teammates will get more used to him. It's kind of a tough decision. You don't want to take away his creativity, because obviously it's tough on the opposing team, and can lead to his moments of brilliance. At the same time, maybe he needs to play a little more "structured" to help the communication with the other Habs.

I noticed the same thing. He usually has more patience with the puck. Maybe he drank some red bulls before the game?

He's not having his best period that's for sure. Noticed the same thing too. Off on his passes, not sharp.

Emelin looked a bit tight early on(which is to be expected after being out for almost 3 weeks) but man it's fun to have him back there for those hits. I can just visualize him hitting Lucic and landing him on his head.

Ummm what? Took a really stupid penalty and had a defence break down that lead to the Oilers best scoring change (where Smyth got behind him)...

I guess Eric Engels is a basketball fan.

Good period. Entertaining, fast-paced. Emelin with a huge hit. Plek playing great.

Brunet looks like such a gino with that 'stache.

From Boone:
Faceoffs were 13-5 Canadiens. Pleks 4-2, Nokelainen 3-1, Eller 3-0

Not a bad period, just need to aim a little better. 4 shots wont get you much.

I thought the penalty woke him up and lit a fire under him..he made 2 great pinches and was awesome on the PK. More positives than negatives. Which is rare for Gill lately so i'll take it.

I think, at this point, that Noke is a better option than Gomez.
