Bottom line is he stood in the way whether he tried to move out of the way or not.
You are allowed to "stand" in the way. As long as he didn't move/change directions to get in the way it is legal.
Refs are having a bad game. i am sure there are calls I can't see in my purple coloured glasses that are being missed the other way.
Good teams can overcome bad calls. Maybe not every game but bad calls go both ways.
A dman is skating backwards playing the forward carrying the puck. An opponent can't be making contact with a dman skating backwards, period.

Brown didn't throw a check. I don't think he was expecting Weber to stay in that lane because he braced for impact at the last moment so he wouldn't get pushed offside. Weber just happened to take it off guard.
It's really a nothing play if Weber's not involved in puck pursuit.
