There are several definitions of 'for nothing'. The one that comes to mind for me is that when Crosby returns, which may be as soon as friday, someone will have to be sent down and it likely was him and he would never have cleared waivers. In that case it is something for nothing.

Not surprising Letestu was the guy dealt. Not a bad return, probably 91st overall. Will hopefully be making back-to-back picks there (90th and 91st, of course).

His stock obviously dropped this year so I guess a 4th is fair, especially when it will be like a late 3rd since Columbus will likely finish in the basement.

I hope he has a good career in Letestu, I was hoping he would be able to step up but the team has a logjam at center.
Seriously? I'm surprised we even got this much for him, especially with it being a top pick in the round.

I think he's better than he's played this season. Best of luck to him in Columbus.

Unfortunately the 4th round draft pick is day-to-day with an undisclosed lower body injury

Oddly enough, you pretty much get a 4th for him there as well. Might be able to get a 3rd from a top tier team, but otherwise a 4th was pretty much his value. Real world and video game world.

On topic. I'm happy for all parties, Testube gets a fresh start in a struggling system. Maybe he can find a niche there. We don't have to lose him for nothing.

Terrifies me because what bigger market team wouldn't give Ray Shero complete control over their team and a huge paycheck to go along with it? How long is Ray Shero's contract with the Pens?

I don't think that's really a threat. From what I see it looks like he has a really good relationship with the ownership and the players. I think he'll stay with the team for some time. Anything is possible I guess, but my gut says GMRS isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

lol why would ray shero leave a team that lets him spend to the cap, has great ownership, quite possibly the best core in the league, and a new building which = stability.

he isn't going anywhere.

I guess we must have different ideas on terror.

Honestly, I really wouldn't worry about what other teams would offer Shero. I'm sure the Pens and Shero will continue to work together for a long time.

I don't think anyone on the roster would clear waivers right now. Maybe MacIntyre, but when guys like Brian McGrattan can get claimed, you can never be sure.

So you never like to sell low on a player, but if players start trickling back into the lineup soon (one player in particular) as speculated bursting the roster limit at the seams, what else can you do? Its either get something or get nothing through waivers.

Fair and square. Since he wasn't traded in the off-season and started the season really poorly, one couldn't hope for more than a 4th really. Coming from Columbus though, it is arguably close to a 3rd.

Sad that Letestu didn't start out the season as if it'd been last season in which case his value would obviously be a great deal higher, but best of luck to him. He served us well and seems a great guy.

This is about as much of a possibility as Lemieux coming back and dangling Ovechkin out of his jockstrap. The second part could happen though.

Also - this makes me feel a little more excited thinking Sid will be back Friday.

Exactly what I expected. Although feel bad he went to CBJ. If nothing else he gets the honor of playing with Wisniewski.

Down boy. Relax. Let's not act like shero fleeced Columbus. What are the chances this draft pick will ever step foot on nhl ice? Good for shero for getting something for him, but a 4th round pick is almost worthless.

Plus, don't forget Shero traded the almighty 4th rounder for Joel Kwiatkowski a few years back.
