[QUOTE=BestRussian71;39190239]Ryan Malone (steal of a pick, probably the ONLY player from the 4th round taken that year to amount to anything)

Shero's been getting some decent players with later round picks. I think giving his staff any extra in terms of draft picks greatly helps the cause.

I don't expect us to have that pick come draft time though.

About what I expected for him. Letestu had no place on this team with the emergence of Vitale and Park who are much better at bottom 6 roles. I thank him for contribution though. Especially the early part of last season where he was playing amazingly good. Hopefully he can find that player in Columbus. Good luck Mark!

I think Letestu could find his game again with less pressure on him to perform. That team can only go up, and with a few trades, he'll have his choice of linemates to find chemistry with.

Remember guys: Jeffrey didn't even play last game, so I think it's safe to say that it will be Jeffrey (and not Crosby) replacing Letestu in the line-up.

Also, agree with your first point. The Pens have plenty of cash to keep Shero, and there doesn't exist the kind of bidding war amongst coaches or GMs to lure them like what happens with UFA players. There's still a general range of salary for coaches & GMs that is pretty well defined.

Shero said he finalized the trade Tuesday because it might have fallen through if he had balked.

He added that the Penguins have 21 players on their active roster and, if an extra player is needed for the game against Dallas or one at Carolina Saturday, one will be recalled from Wilkes-Barre.

That player would not be Jeffrey or Steve MacIntyre, who also has joined the Baby Penguins on a conditioning assignment, because Shero and his staff want to see how they respond to getting extensive ice time in the American Hockey League through the weekend.

It would be Tangradi/McDonald imo. If not Sid.

Unless you want to use Engelland as the 12th forward at times and call up a D-man.

If that article is correct though, Jeffrey/Mac will not be available this weekend as they want them to get more minutes at WBS.

The way the D-man have been getting hurt, 7 D-man wouldn't be a bad way to go.

All I really want to know is, did he come back to her? Did they make little Sineadlings? Now that you've brought it back to my attention after 25 years, if this story doesn't have a happy ending I might cut myself.

Ranger fan coming in peace. I remember watching a few Pens games last season and I thought Letestu played well (aside from that cold streak he was going on). Was he really only worth a fourth round pick? I'm not sure how tight your cap or how much of a cap hit he has, but is salary the reason he was traded?

We were likely going to lose him for nothing on waivers soon when Sid and TK are healthy, so getting a 4th for a guy struggling like he has wasn't bad.

He hasn't been the same player since he returned last season from an injury. He looked slower (which hurts since he was never a speed burner), and simply didn't seem to have much impact on games.

It was also a numbers game. The Pens are already carrying a couple of extra bodies up front, and with both Crosby and Kennedy returning soon (hopefully), Shero had to make a move to clear roster space.

The other issue is that none of the extra players the Pens have are waiver exempt, so the only alternative was to potentially lose them for free.
