Blackhawks @ Jackets | 11/10/11 7pm FS-OH (HD) | "Changes" Edition

Wow, with all the changes that took place this week with this team, it's going to be interesting to see how the team gets things turned around. We saw GMSH canned, Arniel sent to the curb, and Mi--

...wait, none of that happened? Howson wasn't fired? Arniel is still at the helm? Priest is still the team president? I thought Hitchcock was the coach now and Ron Hextall was going to be chasing players that made him mad around the ice throwing blockers at them. Hitch had the--

Hitch is no longer on the payroll? Got a new coaching gig! Good for him! He gets to coach, the CBJ no longer has to pay that $1.3M, everybody wins. Where did he land?

He got hired by the BLUES? You have to be joking. They're just below .500 while we're 2-11-1 What is this I don't even--

Ok, so they didn't change anything in the front office, but that rumored roster makeover will end the slump, gang. Just take a look at the week in CBJ transactions:

To CBJ: Mark Letestu
To PIT: 4th Round Pick (2012)

....that's it? Vermy or Brass weren't moved for some defensive help? No Cory Schneider, Marty Turco, or Sergei Bobrovsky?

Alrighty then...we'll stick to the status quo and see how that works:

Umberger-Vermette-Nash
Prospal-Brassard-Letestu (17)
Dorsett-Pahlsson-Bass
Calvert-MacKenzie-Boll
Johansen

Tyutin-Wisniewski
Methot-Clitsome
Moore-Russell
Johnson

Mason
York

Stalberg-Toews-Hossa
Carcillo-Kane-Sharp
Bickell-Kruger-Frolik
Mayers-Brunette-Olesz

Keith-Seabrook
Hjalmarsson-Leddy
Scott-Montador
Lepisto
O'Donnell

Crawford
Emery

(This is all in good fun. Please don't get too touchy and start a flame war. We all have to laugh at this somehow. )

What a pathetic lineup. Take out Nash, Wiz, and Prospal and you have a mediocre AHL squad.

We get rolled again tonight, likely by 5.

After employing the system, with the additions of Boll and Letestu, how can we lose?

At least I grew up a hawks fan so I will get a glimmer of satisfaction from this beating

Ding, Ding Ding... All it took was post #2 for the first major case of pissed off fan extreme hyperbole to kick in.

We are on our A game today.

We can only hope that the Jackets bring their A game, that is all that matters in respect to this hockey game

Its a home game, we have the last change, so we had our 2 steps back, so time for 1 step forward before the next 2 back

Here is the skinny on tonight, with Management looking firmly entrenched, regardless of the outcome tonight:

The players either play out of there minds, we see the "once every 5 or 6 games" Jackets team

Or

We see a similar (but not as bad, score-wise) game to Saturday night in hopes of pushing people further out the door.

The CBJ will be inspired to play better tonight, but......................................

The Hawks have lost 3 in a row and will be looking to play much better in this game to get back on track, so................................................ ....

The Hawks far superior skill and passion, will trump the CBJ's attempt at playing better. I will be there to witness loss number 12.

I think we are catching the hawks at a bad time, last in the league for PP percentage, I think they will be eager to fix that.

We have a chance if we can learn from the Philadelphia game.

Not ours from last Saturday, but the one last night. If we hide behind our net for 60 minutes, maybe we can get a point by going to overtime.

Gotta hold Chicago to less than four shots.

You know, it's really sad, but I have absolutely no faith in this team at this point what-so-ever.

When you are sitting with 2 wins, 8 points out of 14th place in the West, and 30th in the entire 30 team league, it is really hard to get up for a game.

Honestly, I hope that I can even muster the energy to cheer tonight. I know that sounds horrible, but that is just the way I feel. No excitement at all for this or any game right now.

There, I laid it out there.

You're not alone. Well, you may be a bit lonely at the game tonight, unless you like Hawks sweaters.

Yea. Toronto fans danced on our corpses the last home game, now the Hawks fans get to have some fun tonight.

I mean, I really hope that I am pleasantly surprised tonight, but the CBJ have pretty much beaten the positive out of me. I stayed positive for 11 years, but they have finally just wringed it all out of me.

They are still my team, but damn, it's tough.

I literally cannot believe that the only change between the Philadelphia beating and tonight has been a trade for Letestu. We lose, again. Badly. Maybe management will feel stupid enough when the team and coaching staff that they have so much confidence in get ROLLED by a team that just lost 3-0 to the division rival that's now being led by its recent ex-coach.

There's no way that these players, this coaching staff and this front office could possibly look more pathetic than they do right now. Oh yeah, there is one way - and I have a feeling we'll see it tonight.

Rooting for (and this hurts to say) a bad loss again tonight. Arniel needs to go, and so does Howson. I'm so tired of this franchise having no direction, and being the laughing stock of the nhl. So now were going to a more of a trapping game, and sitting Johansen, who has been one of the few bright spots this season, I suppose we are benching calvert tonight too, and I know Atkinson was sent back down. this is just embarrasing. We need to clean house, bring in a new gm and coach . And start shedding contracts, and build from the goalie out. Please, give me some hope. Cant wait to see Bass, Boll, Dorsett, and Pahlson tonight

If you look at the stats Mason is more that half the reason we are losing. We criticizes our defense but if you look the cbj give up the 5th fewest shots per game in the NHL. Now the defense has been playing spotty at times so they ain't off the hook, but if a team os giving up only 27.9 shots per game and has only 2 wins proves goal-tending is an issue. Your move Scott Howson
