Note to Boucher: Do not change the 1-3-1. It's the Flyers that are making themselves look like idiots.

My god. Do you guys realize what may happen? The refs may redirect their bias the other way because they're acting so ridiculously.

And the refs set the tone... Ignore calls against the Flyers and hit us with a ticky tack call.

Yeah, no. Neutral fan here just browsing to see the reactions to what just happened. TB are the ones who look pathetic, playing the ultimate trap style of hockey and have no interest in forechecking or pursuing the puck or play, that's embarrassing, incredibly embarrassing. Good on the Flyers for making a mockery of that type of game plan.

Pathetic.

Flyers have, on two occasions, sat in their own end and refused to bring the puck up the ice against the 1-3-1. Resulted in dead puck in zone face off for them though.

And the Philadelphia Flyers are the perfect team to take a moral stance against how the game is played? They are the authority and the arbiters on how the game is supposed to be played? Did they do that during all those years playing against Devils?

Our boring as **** system pains me sometimes, this is just embarrassing. That said, it's hard to fault either team, nobody wants to budge. Quite frankly I don't know why we were given two offensive zone faceoffs. We weren't doing **** either.

No. They have the puck and control the game, and moving it is on them. Not the lightning. Hence why the faceiff goes to their zone..

And Lecavalier still has the rep of a horrible defender.

It's wrong not to be to be honest. Put your team aside for a second and think what's good for hockey. 1-3-1 is pathetic, especially when the 1 doesn't even pursue the puck!!

Go post on the devils or red wings forums then. I'm sure they'll be interested in your oh so authoritative take on hockey system innovation.

I like that there's this symbiotic relationship where one team is obliged to forecheck a certain way, and the team breaking out only does so because they don't want to be checked.

People get so defensive when their team is involved, haha. Like a mother protecting her child.

If all 30 teams played the 1-3-1 like TB does, NHL would slowly find it's way off national television. No one wants to watch that crap.
