And Coburn by far overall.

To the OP, just FYI there's a whole forum devoted to hockey fights where these threads are normally posted.

I guess TB is content with one of their better (not to mention undersized) players doing all the fighting for them.

Thought Downie had it at the beginning, but he got worked at the end. He's lucky he didn't suffer more damage than just a cut/swollen lip.

They were in a scrum earlier in the game too. Downie was doing his best constipation face trying to intimidate Coburn. Anyway you could tell Coburn thought I will check you later, Mr. Downie. So apparently he did.

Downie whooped Coburn a few times early in the fight and then got whooped a few times near the end of the fight.

I will say pretty gutless of Coburn to punch Downie in the back of the head repeatedly. He should have kept going with the uppercuts where he was catching Downie pretty good.

Id say overall it was 60/40 in favor of Coburn, but it was a pretty even fight with both players taking a few really good clean shots.

Downie was trying to get him to go in the 2nd and when they finally did, Downie came out firing hard and got a few shots in. But the end was scary, Coburn started using his size advantage and really served some hard blows to Downie. Thank god the refs came in when they did. Downie was lucky to skate away from that fight

Downie caught 4-5 solid upper cuts from a much bigger Coburn and watching this as it happened last night, the entire room of guys I was watching the game with erupted. Great fight.

Downie was quick out of the gates, but this ended as a pretty good beatdown.

Seems people only wanted to post videos of players standing around in that game.

NHL take note. This could be the "?" that leads to "Profit".

Glad to not let you down. And once again your lack of any insight to the actual topic at hand is amazing. At what point in my post was what I said wrong?

Pretty even fight? Downie is a tough guy but he's very lucky he didn't get his jaw broken. He knew he was going to get hurt and had to get the refs to end it. He's lucky Coburn isn't a dick and didn't try to kill him.

Basically the whole thing was wrong and lacked - as you call it - insight to the actual topic at hand - or whatever.

Rather than quote the whole post I thought I'd quote the most offensive miscue, but essentially this.

That it was "a pretty even fight". Downie got hammered. He went in all cocky, then had to have the refs come in before he got knocked out. He was also bleeding.

I have no dog in the fight, but it wasn't even close. He got killed.

In fact, on the VS feed, you could even see him say what looks like "He was pounding me" to the linesman on the way to the box.

He laid just as many clean punches on Coburn as Coburn did to him. He won the first half and Coburn won the second half. Coburn won the fight because his shots were a good bit more damaging to Downie. The uppercuts caught Downie really well.

Nowhere did I say Downie won. But he certainly didnt get destroyed from start to finish like some people are making it out to be.

Once fatigue set in, Coburn was feeding Downie a steady stream of uppercuts.

There was nothing remotely close to "even" about this fight. Downie was basically turtling and still getting fed with massive shots in the end, the refs literally had to jump in to stop the beatdown, it was about to get extremely ugly for Downie. A few early shots doesn't change the fact that Coburn was the very, very clear winner in this fight. Props to Downie for having the heart/guts to go with a much bigger opponent, but he got his ass handed to him.
