I would be willing to trade Stastny, but for a SCORING winger in the top 6 that has his value., which I consider to be a little less than Eriksson value level.

Literally I knew this was going to be the first offer. Why do leafs fans not want Kulemin so bad?
we love Kule .. but Stastny is what we need for our 1st line ... ideally i would want to give up just prospects + the Komisareks/Bozaks/etc of the world but that obviously wont happen

We love Kulemin. However, we know we need a #1C, and we know any deal that gets us a #1C, will have one of Schenn or Kulemin as the center piece.
I don't want to move Kulemin at all. But, if Stastny is coming back, I have no problem with Kulemin being incorporated in the deal, in some way or another.
I'd offer kulemin, but his value is a little lower this year. How about kulemin+schenn for stastny+elliot/barrie. Also, you named this thread wrong, anybody can offer a 50pt guy for a legit #1 center. Should be top 3 winger imo.

Elliott is considered the Avs best prospect, and the reason that Avs felt comfortable trading Shattenkirk.
By all accounts, the Avs' brass feels that Elliott will at least equal Shattenkirk in production.
Taking that into consideration, I have a hard time believing the Avs would be interested in that proposal.
I feel like it would be monumentally stupid for the Avs to trade Stastny, the 1/2/3 punch at center is the best thing the organization has going forward

This. While I believe the Avs certainly need a top 6 winger, I am very hesitant to move Stastny.
I don't know why people are so keen on trading Stastny, especially with Duchene's occasional inconsistent play and no absolute proof whether O'Reilly can produce offence effectively enough to be a second line center.
Having 3 great centers is a luxury many teams in the NHL don't have and I think it would be foolish for the Avs to trade any of them.
Wonder if a deal can be made around Bobby Ryan of the Ducks and Stastny. Both players are boarder-line untouchable. Would be tough for both teams to do it though, but it makes sense at least in terms of what they both would want for each guy.
I like Kulemin...I'd almost be willing to do that deal. But doing so would make our center corps ridiculously weak and inexperienced. I think we're buying into Ryan O'Reilly's great start WAY too early.
I understand Avs' fans frustration w/Stastny, but trading him just doesn't make sense IMO.
Well I am not a fan of either team. I would guess because of the contracts the Ducks would expect a pick which Colorado doesn't have. So maybe a young d-man.
Just made a lot of sense from an outsider perspective. The Ducks need a second line-center, the Avs need an elite scorer on the wing. Of course the second line center is so they can split up the big three. But that line isn't carrying them to the promise land thus far and Stastny would provide balance to the line-up and Koivu could move to a wing role in the top six for the time being. Also think quite a bit of Kyle Palmieri and Emerson Etem, so long term they are good on the wing.
