I don't trust it. It doesn't have the very end of last season at 50%.

It's a much more gentle slope to irrelevance this year, not the gut-wrenching roller coaster ride we had last year.

I'd be quite surprised if anyone not currently in the top 8 (in the West) makes the playoffs.

Also, I think we need to start calling games-in-hand "future losses".

It's not crazy far off. Carlson is poised to be an amazing defender for years to come. He's already producing at an excellent clip at age 22, and is playing 23 minutes a game (2nd on the team). He's got even more upside than Goligoski, and the Stars parted with a valuable piece to get that guy.

While it makes no sense to move Benn, if you're looking for straight "value" of Benn... you could do worse than one of the most promising and accomplished young defenders in the NHL.

A franchise defenseman is a lot more valuable and a lot harder to find than a franchise forward. The decline and loss of Zubov hurt this team way more than the decline and loss of Modano.

I say do it. Trade Benn.

ScubaSteve advocating trading Benn? No way, never would have seen that one coming.

the amazing thing here is he almost implied that Benn is a franchise forward. Thats a long way off from his typical stance on Benn.

There's only one defenseman in this league that I'd trade Benn for, and that is Eric Karlsson. Those type of Defenseman don't come around very often.

I know the guy scores a ton but I remember him being beyond brutal defensively when they played the Stars this year. I wouldn't.

Sens fans claim he has become decent defensively

Nieuwendyk on the Ticket at 2:15. If anyone has the chance to listen and report what he says, I'd appreciate it. I'm in class and can't listen.

I will attest for that, I don't see the trade working for either side though.

Never said that trade would even be possible. Just said He's the only defenseman in the League I'd trade Benn for.

Wow, Joe just said flat-out that he hasn't had any discussions with other teams about trading Morrow nor has he talked to Brenden about waiving his NTC.

Kinda falls in line with how Gaglardi said he wouldn't trade Morrow for 3 1st or a 1st and 2nd and 3rd or whatever he said.

Nieuwy said were not going to but, We might sell but that depends on what happens between now and then. he said the core is Benn/Eriksson/Goligoski/Lehts. and because of the age of these guys he considers the team young. He said he hasn't asked morrow if he would waive his ntc and nobody has called about him either yet. He emphasized that we're building for the future and if it comes down to it he's open to anything really

also said a bunch of hoopla about detroit tonight, also that he is not there and is somewhere else but didn't reveal it
