Thank god... But I kinda want to see another defenseman in Columbus, without trading Wis, Methot, or Tyutin.

Remember that game a couple of years ago when the Jackets won, Shake scored a goal & after the game in the presser, Hitch said something to the effect that "when Russel is your best defenseman, you're in trouble".................???

Coming in peace. Just wanted to say I am floored by this trade. Nikita Nikitin is a solid defensive defenseman but man I thought you guys could've gotten more. I have a sinking suspicion that Russel is going to do some serious damage in St. Louis, especially if he is given PP time.
Really hope you guys turn it around. Got way too many friends depressed as the song "creep" right now in Ohio because of this.
Realizing the quote above about a lot of pissed off people is from Eklund but I wonder if Howson had a deal lined up involving Tyutin and ownership stepped in.
Personally I would love to be rid of turnover Tyutin and his contract but I would hope he brings more than Nabakov in return. Hell throw in Vermette and Brassard and try for Tavares. Snow is about as clueless as Howson so you never know.

Russell was just too small to succeed.... Nothing personal, but he can't and shouldn't be playing top 4 lines on defense for any capable NHL team. I never bought the MacLean Spin tactics about "the next Niedermeyer" or whatever it was, Rafalski?
I glad we got something for him, but I'll tell you, this trade doesn't have the look of a desperate GM on his last bit of goodwill with his bosses....
This looks like a typical Howson move, which really worries me....
