this is great. I guess verizon never had to "run fiber" like people were claiming .. just needed access to the HD signal. I bet VZ was busy making whatever prep work they would need in the past week knowing what the outcome would be ...
You guys are just visitors and the Devils will be Jersey's team you just wait.
It's changing and South Jersey is slowly becoming a little more Red than it used to be.
The South Jersey Devils Viewing Party last month was a success according to people who attended.
When I am in South Jersey I see people in Devils stuff and also Devils license plate frames/etc, something you never saw in the 80/90's.
It will never be a hotbed of Devil fandom due to logistics, but it's not an Orange monopoly any longer.
If anything they were trying to get a basketball season in,
This is all fantastic news, not only for sports fans in the NYC/Buffalo Metro - but also for the fact that the FCC might actually care about it's constituents!
Well Verizon should have played nicer.

Does CV have any other options left?
It was actually Verizon who said they needed 2 weeks to run fiber so that's very confusing lol
They probably ran it in advance knowing the outcome of the case. Verizon usually has access to the poles outside anyways, so they could run right up to the edge of wherever MSG is transferring the signal over without waiting on other companies.
The usual lead time for Verizon work like that is two weeks, for most customers at least.

I'm hearing that not everyone receiving MSG now will get the HD feed.. Apparently the SD feed is sent via satellite to the local places where the signal is sent out, but the HD feed needs to be run via hard fiber and they're saying that the Lawrenceville area (VHO 08) was too far away to run the fiber (for now).. Only people in VHO's 05, 07 and 15 will get the HD feeds.. Again, this is what I'm hearing but it came from a very reliable source
How can you check which VHO you're in? I just did it so I'll post the steps
1. Turn on your TV and STB
2. Hit the "Menu" button on your FiOS remote
3. Go down to Settings (push the right arrow button)
4. Go down to System Information
- Towards the bottom you should see: VHO ID: ####
- The last 2 digits are your VHO number
Apparently people in VHO 08 are getting MSG HD so I guess they did end up running the fiber down there..
I'm also hearing that the channels are up and running this morning and will be in the guide later today (you have to go directly to the channel for now to see it)
This is a 100% reality people.. It's finally here and in time for Nieds Night
usually, Verizon trolls me monthly with their phone bill at inopportune times. now they troll dolan. fantastic. I cant wait to get home and see if I have HD…(Bergen county)
Me too. I live in Suffolk County, so I am not sure what VHO I am in, but hopefully it up and running and I can figure out what channel it is.
I used to look forward to games on Versus so I could watch in HD…I never realized how much I missed it until I moved to Bergen county..to be fair, fios SD seems way better than cablevision SD from what I recall.

too bad VS blacked out the game the last 2 years, so we were forced to watch the SD feed.
Gotta wonder if CV will look to "punish" the Fios customers by putting big games on the oveflow channels. Still see them in SD but I don't think it's below them to try this.
